I was shifting through the clothing on the racks when a certain dress caught my attention. It was truly a beautiful dress. It was a red strapless dress, that reached all the way down to my legs but had a slight tear on the thigh, which wasn't too revealing. I regretted looking at the price tag as soon as I did. 399.99$, wow. Zayn must've seen that I liked the dress, he picked it up and looked over it. "Do you like it?" He asked. "I did, but it's way too expensive. Ill find something else." I said, giving him a reassuring smile. "No, ill get it." He insisted. "Zayn it's four hundred dollars!" I exclaimed. "Anything for my princess." He smiled, giving me a wink as I blushed. "At least let me pay half." I offered. He shook his head as he ran to the cashier, quickly taking out his credit card. "Zayn!" I scolded. "Im not letting you pay on your birthday." He said with a grin as the cashier handed us our bag. I decided to just let it go and thanked him instead.

"Now that we have the dress we need some bling, don't we?" He said with a smirk. I guess this was the surprise. He knelt down on the living room floor, with a jewelry box in his hands. "Happy birthday babe." He said, giving me a gentle kiss on the hand. He opened the box to reveal a Tiffany's silver necklace, with a quite large diamond stud in the middle. It was classy and elegant, the price tag was ripped off. "Zayn, this is amazing! How much did this cost?" I gaped, I found the price tag on the bottom of the box, 230.99$. "Don't worry about the money, you deserve the best." He smiled, I jumped onto him, giving him a long hug as he swiped me off my feet, spinning me around the room. "Go get ready for the ball babe, it's in two hours." He smiled. I nodded in reply and walked into the bedroom. I put on the long red dress Zayn had gotten for me, and curled my hair and put it in a classy bun. I applied natural eye make up, and red lipstick on my lips. I wore my red pumps and grabbed my black clutch. I walked out into the living room to find Zayn nicely fitted into a tux, he looked so handsome. "Forgot something?" He whispered. He grabbed the necklace and locked it in place for me. It looked amazing with my red dress. We both grabbed our masks and walked into the car, tonight was going to be magical.

Zayn walked out of the car first, opening the door for me. We held hands as we walked over the red carpet, and into the ball room. I felt like a princess. Everyone stared at us as we walked into the center of the ballroom, slow dancing to the addicting music. Zayn gently kissed my lips, the. Pulled away with a gentle smile. I rested my head on his shoulder as he grabbed onto my waist, pulling me closer. We danced for what seemed like an eternity when a pop song played. We walked over to one of the nicely decorated tables, and took a seat. "I'll go get us some champaign, yeah?" Zayn offered, I nodded in reply. "I need to go to the bathroom anyways." I smiled. I gave him a peck on the cheek before walking into the hallway, where the bathrooms were.

As I walked out of the bathroom I noticed a familiar, tall curly haired boy making out with a blonde girl in the hallway. Harry? I didn't want to intrude so I quickly walked back to where my seat was, Zayn was waiting for me with our drinks. "Thanks." I smiled, grabbing my drink and taking a quick sip. "I think I saw Harry in the hallway a few minutes ago." I said, taking another sip from my drink. "Really? Does he know we're here?" He asked, a bit surprised. "No, he was kind of busy with something else..." I replied quietly. "Weird. Harry doesn't usually come to formal events like this. He's more of a hipster kind of guy." Zayn explained, as another slow song came on. "May I have this dance, princess?" He asked, making me blush as I nodded in reply, he grabbed my hand and lead me into the center of the dance floor. We danced all night, not caring about who was staring, or who was judging us. It was just me, Zayn, and the music. I was officially twenty.
