'Okay so you stay in the hallway so the boys won't expect you and then you come in,' Michael told us. All three of us nodded and he walked inside the room. We could hear them talk.
'Hey guys, what's up?' you knew he was nervous only by the way he talks.
'We're good, why are you nervous?' Luke asked.
'I'm not nervous, am I nervous? Why would I be nervous?' I had to try my best not to laugh.
'You're definitely nervous,' Calum said. I sighted, let's go help Michael. I stood up and walked in the room, the girls and I were coming in the room one by one so they would be surprised every time one of us walked in the room.
'Hi guys,' I said while I said between Luke and Ashton.
'What are you doing here? I'm pretty sure you lived in Canberra,' Luke said looking at me like I was a magical creature.
'I came here because I needed to get away from there, you know,' I answered looking him in the eye. He just smiled before Ashton pulled me into a hug.
'Everything is going to be alright girl, don't worry,' he whispered in my ear, this must've been a weird sight to the rest of the boys but I didn't care. He calmed me down and that's what counts.
'Awww look at them!' I heard Charlotte say. I sighted before I let go of Ashton and looked at Charlotte. She sent me a kiss. Charlotte walked over and sat down next to Luke. Rose stood there being awkward until she walked over to Calum and started a conversation. Michael sat down beside me so I was sitting in between Mike and Ash.
'Why didn't you tell us?' he asked looking at me, his hand was laying on my knee.
'I didn't want you to worry Mike, Rose and I will be fine if we don't go shopping or something,' I said looking him in the eye.
'But we could help you, I mean, all of us have experienced those problems before we were 5sos,' Ashton said while Mike pinched my knee softly. He was worried about us, and that was exactly what I wanted to avoid.
'That's the thing boys, I don't want to be dependant. Rose and I are both 18 now, just a few more months of school and then I can go look for a job,' I said looking down at Mike's hand.
'But we want to help Kayla, I don't want to see you suffer because you don't have enough money,' Mike said again.
'I don't want to suffer either, it has been hard enough for the three of us. But how can we ever pay you back for the help?' I asked them looking at both of them. They both start to laugh, like really hard.
'Who said something about paying us back?' Ashton asked me.
'I did now,' I said knowing I would loose this discussion as well.
'You are not going to pay us back girl, we know how hard this is for you,' Ashton looked at me while he said this.
'But I want to do something for you, you can't just help us and expect us to do nothing back,' I answered him.
'I'm going to explain something to you Kayla, have you ever heard about the term "friends", well "friends" stick up for each other and help whenever they can and they don't expect anything back. We are friends Kayla, so we don't expect you to pay us back okay? There will be plenty of things you could do for us in the near future,' Mike said seriously. This was the first time I've seen him so serious.
'But anyways, what do you want to drink?' he asked me casually like nothing happened.
'Just some water please,' I answered him with a smile. He asked the same question two more times for Rose and Charlotte and went to the kitchen. I looked at Mike, he was smiling at me, I don't know why but I smiled back at him. When Ashton came back with our drinks Calum said something about videogames.
'I want to play!' I said happily.
'Damn, you're really addicted,' Calum said laughing. I nodded really hard, it must have looked like my head was about to drop off my body. Everyone started laughing at me. Michael started the Playstation and gave a controller to me and Calum.
'You're going to lose bud,' I said laughing.
'I know, I know,' he answered smiling, shaking his head. We started playing and after a while I heard the door open and closing again. I didn't look and played until I defeated Calum.
'I still don't know how you can be this good,' he said shaking his head.
'I told you, Rose and I have a brother and I used to play with him and in contests and stuff,' I said smiling, remembering the times.
'Wait, you played in contests?' Michael asked me.
'Yeah, about once in a month I guess,' I answered.
'But only the best players ...' he stated in shock.
'Yes,' I said smiling.
'No wonder, that's why you are this good,' Ashton said smiling as well.
