"Don't worry mom. Batman is one of the good guys, he won't hurt me if I "accidentally" discover his identity"

One year later

Sam's POV

"But why?" I ask him

"Because it's not safe, that's why!" he insists

"Not safe for who? For me or for you?"

He gave me that look he gives me every time I ask him about who he is and why he won't tell me.

"You know the answer..."

"If you aren't going to tell me who you are just leave me alone and don't come back..." I say

I don't mean it of course but I'm sick of him just showing up on my balcony whenever he wants to talk, but still unwilling to tell me everything.

He left...

It was a lot easier just following him around Gotham, trying to find where he lives and who he is. Why did he have to follow me that night 6 months ago? Why is he still hiding such thing from me? I thought we are friends or maybe I'm not as important to him as he claims.

Breaking news: A serial killer known as the Joker has escaped Arkham Asylum...

When I heard this my heart just stopped beating. He is going to go after Batman. I need to find him and help him. It doesn't matter if I don't know who is behind that mask, I can't lose him.

Bruce's POV

I left...

Perhaps she is right. I don't deserve her friendship while hiding behind that mask. But how could I tell her and put the woman I love in such danger.

*phone rings*

"Yes, Jason?"

"Did you watch the news? The Joker has escaped from the asylum. What are we going to do?" the voice on the other side asks under his breath

"We are going to catch him and put him right where he belongs" I say

"That's what I was hoping to hear. I'm coming your way." Jason said and hung up the phone

Now with the Joker out in the wild I can't risk anyone except Jason to know about me. Especially Sam.
