Part 3- 3..2..1.. Go! (edited)
Song for this chapter: Locked Out Heaven- Bruno Mars.
Elsie's POV:
"Who's up for a few rounds of chicken?" Calum asked as we splashes around each other. Ashton went under water and I looked at the others.
"I'm up for it." Lily said, smiling at me.
"I'll be with Lily." Luke said and I once again saw a blush rise to her cheeks. All of a sudden I felt something between my legs and I screamed when I felt my feet being lifted off the ground. A second later, Ashton's head popped up, with me on his shoulders.
"We're in." He said, and I saw him throw a smirk in Michael's direction.
"Fine, Calum and I will be partners." He said, shooting Ashton a dirty look. Ashton's face held a smug smile and I couldn't help but giggle at the two.
After a few minutes, Lily was sitting on Luke's shoulders, a proud smile on his face, and Calum was on Michael's.
"3..2..1..Go!" Ashton shouted. Immediately we were a ball of arms and bodies. Water was being splashed everywhere, and I was just hoping I wouldn't get pushed down. After being pushed by Lily, Calum fell, and he grabbed her arm as he did, so she came down as well.
"We won!" I cheered to Ashton who grinned up at me. Michael came out of the water for air and shook his hair out of his eyes.
"Let's do another round, but with different partners." Everybody agreed so we started partnering up.
"I'll be with Lily." Calum said.
"I'll take Elsie." Michael said, smiling.
"And Ash and I." Luke finished.
I felt Michael go under so I moved so he could get me on his shoulders. his hands touching my legs to steady me.
I put my hands in his hair and mindlessly played with it until the everybody was ready.
"3..2..1.. Go!"
---
Leah Clifford's barbecue was way bigger then I expected. Apparently, when one person has a barbecue, you invite the entire neighborhood, and everybody just eats and hangs out.
"Having fun?" Luke asked, coming up to me as I got more watermelon.
"Yeah. The people in Lily and I's neighborhood would've never done this. It's nice." I said, smiling.
"Hey, speaking of Lily," he said, and then looked down nervously, "does she, umm, you know, have a boyfriend?"
"Awe, Luke." I laughed, ruffling his hair. "No, she doesn't."
"Shut up." He grumbled, fixing his hair and walked away, and I smiled at the thought of Luke and Lily.
I had that tired feeling you get after swimming for the majority of the day. My hair was too frizzy so stuck it in a high messy bun, and I despised all the little hairs that would fall in my face. I ditched my shoes, and was walking around bare foot, and my tank top hung loosely over my bikini top and shorts. I walked over to the porch steps and took a seat so I could step away from the crowd for a while.
I watched as Michael walked across the yard to a little boy who looked around 5, playing with Legos in the grass. He was trying feverishly to stick two of them together but they wouldn't go. Michael crouched down so he was at his level and started talking to him. I saw the little boy give Michael the Legos and he stuck them together and gave them back to him. The little boy grinned at him and a small smile came across Michael's face. That was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen a teenage boy help a little kid with. Michael looked up and our eyes met, I was smiling, and he quirked his eyebrows in question. I laughed and shook my head. He winked and I got up and dusted off my pants. I saw Lily looking rather lonely, leaning up against the railing so I went towards her.
"So," I began, getting her attention, "guess who asked me if you were taken?"
She stared at me with wide eyes and I smirked.
"That's right. Mr. Luke." I laughed, throwing my arm over her shoulder.
Michael walked over to us before I could tease Lily anymore.
"We're starting a bonfire on the beach. You girls want to come?" He asked, looking at us hopefully.
"Yeah. Come on, Lil."
Michael led us down the stairs of his patio and towards the fire pit on the beach. The boys were already crowded around it, and Lily and I took a seat on one of the blankets laid on the sand.
"So, are you guys still in school?" Calum asked us from across the fire.
"I am. I graduated in June. But when Lily and I go back to America after the summer she has to finish out her senior year." I answered.
"So you two aren't the same age?" Ashton asked curiously.
"Elsie is a few months older then me. She turned 18 at the end of last month. But I went to elementary school later then normal so I'm not in her grade." Lily explained.
"So what's your bands name?" I asked, leaning back on my elbows.
"5 Seconds of Summer." Michael said. This made me sit up straight, and I almost got a brain rush from how fast I did it.
"Wait, as in, 5 Seconds of Summer that's going on tour with One Direction?!" I exclaimed, Lily and I's faces full of pure shock.
"Yeah." Ashton said, chuckling.
"That's awesome!" I said.
"I wouldn't place you as a One Direction fan." Michael said from the blanket next to me.
"I like a good boyband." I said.
"Let's get this bonfire going!" Luke Saudi throwing some wood on the fire.
"I say we make s'mores." Calum spoke up.
"I'll get the stuff."
"I'll get the sticks."
"I'll get the drinks!"
