Chapter 1 - Cerise

"Jasper, I swear to the Lord above if you do not shut up, I will shove your ego down your throat so you choke," Cerise growled, shoving her worn down backpack into the pocket of the motorcycle she owned. He had been talking non-stop about this new female fighter and it was driving Cerise insane. Actually, insane couldn't properly describe how she felt.

If only he had known that this new 'hot' fighter was Cerise's opponent for the night. She clenched her fists, remembering how this girl managed to get someone to tell Cerise off and challenge her to a fight in her ring. The audacity of this girl.

"Okay, I get it," Jasper surrendered, briefly crossing his arms before uncrossing them again. "You're not in a good mood. What's got you so angry, then?" He asked, placing his own book bag into the opposite pocket. He climbed aboard and Cerise quickly followed, wrapping her arms around her best friends waist.

Even though she owned the bike and should have driven it, Jasper told her earlier in the day when she asked if he needed a ride that she would kill them both before they arrived at the bar where her fight was located. According to Jasper, she was that angry about him cheering for her adversary.

"Some chick," she muttered bitterly, anticipating the roar of the engine to engage. Jasper waited for an explanation. However, he did not not receive one. Instead, he got a sharp slap to the back of the head. Yet, he still continued to wait patiently for a response, his foot hovering over the pedal.

Cerise removed her hands from his waist and shoved Jasper after waiting in silence for a few moments. "Start the thing, will you? I have a fight to attend," she impatiently snarled.

Her friend sighed and turned his head slightly to the right. "What'd she do?" He asked, a smirk rising at the tips of his mouth. His curved lips moved up an inch more at Cerise's rage induced face.

The girl inhaled through her nose, her patience running thin. "I'll tell you when I get there," she uttered out, dangerously close to bursting into flames. She huffed angrily, pushing her hair out of her face.

Jasper backed off, his hand twisting the key to the motorcycle. Cerise's anger decreased as soon as she heard the roar she had been anxiously waiting for. She looped her hands around Jasper's waist again as he started speeding down the roads to the bar.

Halfway through the ride, her hands were freed and she allowed the thin air to cut through her fingers. The music blared through the motorcycle's radio station as they sped through the empty streets.

It took about five minutes to get to the bar. They stopped before entering the parking lot to regain the maturity they lost during the ride. Cerise couldn't afford losing her name because of her immaturity. When they did, however, Cerise couldn't stop herself from looking over at the bar in awe. She had seen it many times before but the place she called home still seemed to blow her mind.

It was an old thing that was owned by a good friend of Cerise's. His actual name was Bobby, however he has always been called 'Bibs' considering he constantly wears a pale blue bib around his neck. No one knows why but everyone believes he's not right in the head so they let it pass.

Cerise knew and it wasn't because he was some mentally deranged person. It was a sad, heartfelt story and anyone - even the most heartless person - would feel some sympathy for this man.

The little bar was called 'Bib's Saloon'. Bobby and his son adored those old western movies so he decided to buy a bar and make a saloon out of it. It went against the whole modern theme of the town but it was worth it. Plus, Bobby could care less if it didn't match. The inside matched any typical western saloon back in the day. Wood was placed everywhere; along the walls, as the tables. Yet, that's what Cerise loved about it. The saloon was different than anything else, just like her. They didn't match, didn't belong in this town, but the two found a way.
