Lance's POV

After a few seconds of scanning her delicate and oh so sexy features, I regained my composure.

"You look gorgeous."

I may have imagined it but I think I heard her breath hitched at my words. It was like she was shocked that I found her beautiful.

"Not bad yourself."

"Care to join me for a stroll before dinner?"

"Ahhm, Sure."

I did not wait for anymore second and I gently took her hand to lead her out of the house.

Our walk to the beach was laced with comfortable silence. Holding Cassie's hands while walking at the sandy shore, feeling the smooth and fine grains of sands on our feet, looking at the beautiful sunset with its red and orange hues felt calming and relaxing.

I watched Cassie with an unwavering gaze, as a fiery red orb of light slowly sank beneath the horizon, and threads of light lingered in the sky, she was bathed with a glow from the heaven's dye of first orange, then red, then dark blue, until all that was left of the sunset was a pale mauve, and then that melted away in turn as pitch darkness took over the sky. Her beauty while watching the heaven's do its daily routine is as captivating as the wonderful transition we are seeing in the clouds.

Just holding her hand and spending time with each other makes me see my future with her.

How can a simple act like this affect me so deeply? I know I have been asking myself that question ever since I met her. Am I too vulnerable to feel so attached in a short period of time? And Im sure that If I don't act on this now I may be wasting precious time. She may leave me anytime just like the other people I've grown to love. I thought I know what love meant before I met her. But now I am not so sure. Im starting to lose control.

"What's wrong?" I heard Cassie ask.

"Nothing. Im just enjoying the view."

"The view? Yes, its the best sunset view I witnessed. But, why were you gripping my hand too tightly all of a sudden?"

"Sorry. I didn't realize. I was just. . . having some thoughts."

"Care to tell me?"

I didn't know how to answer that I was thinking about how to control our situation, I mean, my uncontrollable emotions when it comes to her.

"You know Lance, we may not have known each other for a long time but please trust me when I tell you that I will listen to whatever you want to say. Whenever you have something bothering you, you can tell me. I may not be able to help but I can try. I. . .I think I care about you."

I saw a flicker of emotion on her eyes but it was gone in an instant.

My heart felt like I ran a marathon considering its number of beats per minute when I heard her words.

The sun was down, the afterglow of sunset lingering on the horizon and still, I cannot seem to look away from her, especially when she smiled after telling me that she cares.

"There's nothing wrong. I am used of being always in control and but now Im worried that I cannot direct how things will turn out."

"You always have control because you have free will. You have your own choices and those choices will always dictate the outcome."

"But not every choice I make is the best one."

"There is no such thing as best choice until you achieved the desired results. Time and circumstances will play a big part and its up to you on how you will live with and stand by the choices you made."

I was not able to respond. I am seriously pondering on her words. I begin to see myself and the choice I made in the past. The choices that I thought were the best before but now, were all insignificant.

"Thanks Cassie."

"For what? I haven't even done anything for you. You were always the one helping me. I should be the one doing the thanking. Thank you Lance! I think you are my personal Superman! I really appreciate everything."

Her voice was laced with sincerity and appreciation. She looked into my eyes when she thanked me and then gave me a short peck in the cheeks.

Acting like the school boy I think Im turning into, I blushed.

"You're welcome." I looked away so she won't see my face.

"Are you blushing?" She poked my cheeks as she teased me.

"Of course not! How can you see? Its dark!"

"Por qué tan a la defensiva!? If you say so. . .Come on, let's race!"

She let go of my hands, then started running back to the house.

I watched her for a few seconds, smiling at myself. Feeling thankful to the heavens for having this moment with her.

Now, I feel like I have a purpose aside from the ones I currently have which is my business and making my grandparents happy.

I will start building my future, a future with the right person and for the right reasons. It may be a bumpy ride but at least I now have the courage to take it.

Her words replayed in my mind.

"There is no such thing as best choice until you achieved the desired results. Time and circumstances will play a big part and its up to you on how you will live with and stand by the choices you made."

"I choose to have you Cassie and I will make sure that all circumstances will be on my favour and all your time will be with me." I whispered these words as I watched her run towards the steps leading to the house.

I may have interpreted her words differently but who cares, as long as I achieved the desired results, I will live with and stand by her. I am determined to do this and I will make sure this turns out to be the BEST decision I ever made in my 24 years of existence.
