"Yeah, yeah, be good. . stay with Lyle. . don't break any bones. . don't get drunk and God forbid if I get a boyfriend. ." I repeated my mum's words as the tormented my mind through the phone line.

"I'll be okay mum. ." I sighed as she began to tear up. I loved my parents but certain things made me want to bash my head off of a wall. It was their choice to go off on a cruise after all. "I mean, it's not like you've destroyed my summer. . a summer where I could be dancing on tours or anything. ."

She yelped in guilt but I was only joking around, as much as I hate to be here. "Look mum, Asher's okay, she's going to get through this summer like a hot knife through butter."

She went silent on the line and I heard my dad laugh. "If you're speaking like you're brother to be funny Asher, then I suggest you stop it. This is not a funny matter, I feel like a terrible parent."

"It's okay mum honest," I smiled despite my sadness of having to spend a summer somewhere I don't belong. "I'm twenty-one, you and dad should be able to catch a break once in a while. If you getting a break after all these years means I have to spend a summer in Lyle's science computer company working in a café then I think I can let this slide."

"But your dance, the tou--" I stopped her from fretting.

"There'll be plenty more, and if not then I've already done two. A solid amount, I'm happy where my career is heading at my age. I can spare one summer to watch over big brother Lyle and his antics." I shook my head softly. Giving the cab driver the money I hopped out of the car and went to retrieve my luggage from the back.

"Honey, she said it's okay. Take it. Stop your worrying, they're adults." Dad spoke up in the background and I presumed they had me on speaker, the connection was getting pretty bad and I was here, so I'd have to say my goodbyes soon.

"Have a good time away, remember to keep thinking of us. I'll just be having fun serving bagels and coffee whilst watching Lyle guide his interns to victory at the end of the summer." I laughed and so did our parents.

"We'll see you soon okay, I'll let Lyle know you said hi when I see him." I picked my phone back in my hand after having it rest on my shoulder as I pulled my luggage across the road and nearer the giant modern Google building. "We love you,"

"Stay safe sweetie, no bone breaking or boyfriend meeting though. Your career is important to us all, we want you to be happy." She sniffled and I smiled.

"Call soon dad." I reminded. "Bye mum, have a good time both of you."

With that the call ended and I shoved my phone into my back pocket. Unsurprisingly today was the second day of intern intake, so Lyle would be somewhere in the main building. I just needed to find out where. .
