"Let's go to Undyne. Papyrus still didn't talked to her, so she should be at her home. Let's talk to her there. Maybe she will listen, even when I highly doubt it."

And so the three of you left to straight Undyne. Everything felt... different. Different but good. This was the first time you didn't have to run from the warrior, trying to avoid her spears that were meant to pierce you. Knowing Sans and Papyrus would protect you made you feel safe and uncomfortable at the same time, remembering Sans only had 1 HP...

Papyrus was the one who knocked on the door, as you reached the fish-like house. Undyne opened it within seconds and then it went very fast. She tried to throw a spear at you, but Papyrus stepped in, persuading Undyne to talk to you. Also Sans stepped in, telling you were harmless, armored with just a stick and with no intention of hurting others.

Although the female fish wasn't sure she let you guys in and you let your charm free, asking her for some tea and telling how much you heard about her. Somehow it worked and in a short span of time you, her and Papyrus where standing in front of the kitchenette preparing sauce while Sans was sitting on the table - that was whole this time – with his ketchup and a genuine smile.

You hadn't had so much fun in a long time. Even if Undyne didn't care about her house you tried to not ruin or set it on fire. This time... This time you'd do everything to keep peace in the world. You'll open the barrier somehow and your friends will see the sky.

Breathing in you sat down beside Sans to watch Undyne and Papyrus do the rest of the cooking.

"I'm sorry.", you mumbled between your teeth.

Sans was confused.

"You... were right. Now I see that I really am not alone in this. It feels right to see these two have fun. Like in the old time."

"Yeah... It was a-boat time."

This tiny pun made you laugh like there was no tomorrow. Of course Papyrus heard the pun and looked down at Sans while shaking his skull. Sans, naturally, didn't lose up. Instead he told another pun: "Papyrus if we are skeletons..."

"SANS, DON'T..."

"How do my jokes get under your skin?"

Once again you laughed so loud, the whole house was full with your bright voice. AND it didn't end. One more pun came out of Sans mouth, making Papyrus lose it all. "I think I'm pretty humerus."

Oh Sans, I missed you so much, you though as tears of joy run down your cheeks.

Suddenly you heard a voice in your head and a shiver run down your spine.

[*With your determination, you wished extermination. We are coming for you.]

As your laughter went silence, everyone's gaze rested upon you. Quickly you shook of the bad feeling and gave them a smile, asking Sans for a short time to speak with him in private. Undyne wasn't sure how to feel about it.

Anyway, Sans and you went outside, where he lean against the door. "What's up, or rather down, kiddo?"

This time, you only smiled sadly at his pun. "I can feel Chara. They are searching for me. They want to erase me, I know that, they are coming for me."

"First they have to go through me and have some bad time."

Your heart hurt. Why is he doing so much for you. You felt so weak and all you wanted was a hug. And so your arms went under Sans hoodie, your face burring into his chest. First, Sans was shocked, but after a few second he put his hands into his pockets and hugged you back, enclosing you into his hoodie.

"Sans... Frisk is still my sister. I don't want to hurt her nor do I want you to be hurt. I know I am an egoist right now, but can we move on? Just you and me. Papyrus is safe with Undyne."

"That'll be for the best. Let us just pack some things and we can leave for Alphys. She can help us with Frisk, I hope."

"I... know you hate promises, but let me make this one: there won't be any more resets."

"Kid, you shouldn't-"

You interrupted him with hugging the skeleton harder. "No, Sans. It's time to end this madness. I'll show you the stars. You'll going to love them."

He, too, pulled you closer to him, resting his head on your shoulder. You could feel how some wet drops run down your collarbone. "Why are ya doing this for us? For me? I killed you so many times. I killed your sister."

"We all did mistakes. I, for my part, did the most. And yet you're here with me. I'm not even mad because I keep on dying, it's just... I don't even know why I'm trying. I took away our perfect, happy ending, resetting the world despite the warnings. I should just have died the first time. The barrier was down, everone was so happy. But no... Somehow I started this nightmare." Maybe it wasn't a perfect place for such a conversation, but standing there with Sans made you open up to him. "To be honest, every time you throwed me down, I hoped you'd kill me once again."

"Shhh, (y/n)... It's alright. We'll never fight against each other again."

Maybe in this timeline not, but how knows what the future is going to bring? No... There won't be any resets. If you fail – you die. Ultimately.

"Sans, can I tell you a secret?"

He pulled a little bit away, so you could look into his eyes and nodded slowly. It's now or never. There isn't going to be another time. Somehow this timeline was like a dream and you wanted to keep it this way.

"Since the very first timeline, I'm... I should have tied my shoes, so I wouldn't fall in love with you. Hach... My mistake..."

He chuckled and you didn't know if it was good or bad. "Then tie your shoes now, because I don't want ya to fall in love with someone else."

It was a good chuckel...
