The rest of the day went by in a blur, they all went with their day separating and then meeting in the hallway, eating lunch together, until they stood outside of the last class of the day, their new elective. They all 4 had taken the same one in hopes of being in the same class, and they succeeded. They were standing and talking before the bell rang, the finally heard it echo through the school and they walked into the class.

Riley sat wiggling her legs in her seat with excitement.

"I don't get why you're so happy Riles." Maya said, genially interested in what reason her friend found to be so joyous.

"Because Maya! I've heard the seniors talk about this class! You do a major child project and raising a family without the pain of child birth just sounds so fun to me!" She exclaimed, scrunching her nose when she mentioned child birth.

"It's probably just some crying doll, Riley, it's a stupid assignment that will teach us children are annoying and basically useless."

Riley's shoulders dropped, knowing that it was probably true.

Farkle jumped in, "I don't know, I'm pretty exited too."
Maya saw him glance at Riley when he said it. She smiled at their not-so-secret flirting with each other.

Finally their teacher walked in. It was a skinny brunette woman that looked around the age of 30. They all turned their attention to her. "Hi, I'm Mrs. Brooks." She talked as she wrote her name on the board. "I'm going to get to the point," she started, "this class is hard work, our senior project deals with others lives in your hands, so if you don't want to be held with that responsibility I suggest leaving as soon as class is over, marching over to the office and changing this class."

Maya shifted in her seat, after hearing that, she began to think it was a bad idea, that she wouldn't be dealing with just some doll.

Mrs. Brooks handed them a sheet with the rules, and basically everything they needed to know.

Senior Family Project
No slacking off, these are human beings!
You chose your partner, but if there is more funny business than work, they will be switched
Children selections will be made from the orphanage (be careful what you think you can handle)
Take them home to the given apartment, it's not 5-star, but it's nice and should not be messed up with parties or any other ignorant teenager actions.
1 vehicle is given, although you can use what you own
$600 is provided to every group, that is to help start with food, bills, and things for your children, not for personal use
• After that, it's up to you! Many of you have jobs and your schedules may change
Those who are used to skipping school, don't, when your child is sick, somebody has to stay him with them, and you only have a certain number of school days to miss
You will be observed, so don't think you can get away with anything
Enjoy the new life awaiting you!

After Mrs. Brooks read it out loud so looked off of the sheet to the class. "We are riding down to the orphanage tomorrow during this class, and those who show up will be the ones who stay. Think about all you have read and think hard, because this is not a punishment, it is a learning opportunity. No go find your partners!"

Maya put her hands to her head while the rest of the class got up to go find their partner, including Farkle and Riley. Lucas put a supporting hand on Mayas back.

"Lucas I don't know if I can do this," Maya said, "the pressure, the stress, I never knew it would be this difficult, I'm not doing it."

"It's gonna be hard, but at least you don't have to go through pain of child birth." Lucas grinned as he brought back Riley's words.

"Oh shut up you dork." Maya brought her head up and smiled. She grabbed Lucas's shirt to bring their faces together.

Lucas continued the kiss, but not long before he heard, "Kiss your boyfriend on your own time Miss Hart," Mrs. Brooks said without looking up from her computer.

This caused Maya to smile in the kiss before breaking apart.

"Can I see you after class Maya?" The teacher added, using her first name.

Maya broke her gaze with Lucas before nervously replying, "uhhhh... Sure."

Just then Farkle and Riley came back, "Everybody else is paired up," Riley said unhappily.

"Well I guess that means, you too will have to go together." Maya grinned mischievously.

Riley's eyes widened. She looked at Farkle, but quickly looked away when she realized he had already been staring at her. She blushed and looked down.

Maya jumped up, "I now pronounce you, partner and partner."

They sat down without another word. Riley was quickly back to her bubbly self about the whole project, "I can't wait to live next to you guys, like we always talked about when we were younger."

Maya and Lucas glanced at each other. "We aren't doing it Riles, I'm sorry." Maya apologized.

"I don't understand."

"We're not doing the senior project, we're going to change our elective after class and do the cooking class or something."

"Then Farkle and I are coming with you," Riley argued.

"NO!" Maya yelled. The talking in the room grew quiet as people looked at her. Riley looked hurt. Realizing her mistake Maya quickly added, lowering her voice, "I mean I know how exited you are with this Riley, you will love it, all I'm going to learn is how much I hate kids, I can't do it."

"What are we going to do, who are we going to talk to?" Riley asked worried.

"Sarah and Zay, they're staying." Lucas finalized.

"No, it's not the same, I'm not doing it without you guys." Riley continued to be persistent with her decision.

"Riley, listen honey, yes you are, you will, you love this project and you'll hate yourself if you don't do it." Before Riley could object again the bell rang.

Maya stayed behind, remembering the request from Mrs. Brooks.
