It's my 15th concert on tour and Connor has finally joined me. The Boston crowd is loud and excited. In the middle of BITE, my first song of the night, someone in the front row throws a copy of A Work In Progress at me. At least it didn't hit me in the face. I think.
I pick it up after the song and say, "I don't need another copy, I already have a million. Connor keeps so many copies at home," laughing. The crowd freaks out and I quickly realize what I said.
"Oh shit."
Everyone cheers louder, chanting, "TRONNOR." at the top of their lungs.
"Wait, don't tell anyone cause we're probably not dating anymore." everyone boos. "Well, now that everyone knows, Con's probably mad that I outed our relationship so he might break up with me..."
I don't see Connor come out from backstage behind me. He sneaks up on me and hugs me from behind, taking the microphone from me "I'd never." Everyone cheers.
Connor picks up the book. "Buy 'A Work In Progress' by Connor Franta, online and in stores now... oh yeah and it's on audible.com!" he starts to go backstage again, smiling, but he turns around and takes the microphone again to add "commonculture.co is a pretty cool website, it's got coffee, clothes, and compilations." We both smile and everyone laughs.
He turns around again, but this time I grab his hand and announce "This next song's for Connor," before I start to sing for him. to Connor for the first time publicly. The crowd gets really quiet again and I can see people tearing up. Connor joins in on the fourth verse, quietly singing/speaking the words along with me. The song ends, just like it always does, but this time is different. Tronnor is no longer just the topic of a million different fanfictions. Everyone knows now. It feels good not having to worry about being secretive anymore. I feel at ease. The final notes of for him. play and the crowd screams, jumping up and down as I pull Connor close to me and we kiss. The crowd is loud, but I can still hear my dad backstage cheering the loudest. We pull apart and I hug Connor, whispering "I think I might love you as much as a love Nutella..." he walks backstage smiling as I laugh and the opening notes to the next song play. For the rest of the night I'm grinning ear to ear and dancing especially enthusiastically. I even start to do part of the dance from the 'We're my OTP' music video when two girls in the front row request it.
As always I'm a little sad when the show's over, but I'm also excited to see Connor. I know that both of our Twitters will no doubt be blowing up. If there's one thing our fans are good at, it's getting news around fast.
