Chapter 1- Promises&Plotting

A few items later I came across a box of jewelery. I open in and run my hand through it all. I decide to keep it in case Belle wants it; it's not like it's going to be any use to me. Anyway I'm sure Belle will want something of mom to hold onto. I take a few deep breaths as the thought of Belle invades my mind. She is taking this a lot harder than I thought. I mean, I wasn't exactly expecting her to be jumping around singing, but I thought... I honestly don't know what I thought. I had no time to think. I just came home one day and I found my mom hung from the fan. I had no time to think about anything. I feel everything I felt at the time. The confusion, anger, hurt, ache, shock. The pain. I called the police and they came and took her away from me. They did a post mortem and found nothing but that her lungs failed on her due to her being strangled. My mind goes back to the conversation I had this the doctor.

"Her lungs failed on her?" I ask as the news settle in.

"Yes, I am so sorry to have to tell you this bad news but I'm afraid it's true. The lung wasn't recieving any oxygen for it to function properly."

"Her death? It was a painful one wasn't it?" I ask as my tears start to run.

"We will never know Mr. Azizi but it would of most likely been like that." I nod at him as I thank him and turn to walk away. I keep my head down and soon enough bump into a body.

"Reece Azizi? I have been looking for you." I look up to see an officer.

"Yeah?"

"Well as part of a procedure we had to check your mother's body for any cuts or bruises. We found nonthing but a bruise at the back of her head. We are presuming that the murderer hit your mother here which made her unconscious. Apart from this nothing was found, however we did find this." He passes me a laminated picture of a tattoo. It reads 'Mommy'.

As I examine it the officer carries on speaking to me, "It was found in the lower back region and although it may look like a real tattoo we realise that is written in using a permanent sharpie pen."

"Do you think that there is a message behind it?"

"We currently do not know, however think it may be just because she is your mom?"

"So? Who would do that?Just write mommy on a dead body?"

"That is what we would like to talk to you about. We were wondering if you could maybe come down to the station for some questioning?"

"You think it was me?!" I ask anger seeping in.

"No sir. We have already crossed you off the suspect list, however we were wondering if you knew if your mother or father has any illegitimate children."

I furrow my eyebrows but follow as he leads away.

It has been two weeks since then and they have found nothing. Belle is right. These people won't do anything. They don't care. This is a usual type of case. Nothing new. I stare at the family picture frame sitting opposite me. I stare at all our smiling faces; one happy family. That was before dad got arrested. Don't ask. That is a story for another day. He was released a few weeks back but still hasn't bothered to make an appearance. Didn't even bother turning up for the funeral, and he can't say he never knew. Everyone knew.

I close my eyes as Belle's words run in my head.

'She's our mom and we love her. They have to, and if not we'll find her."

I remember the promise I made mom at her funeral. With these two thoughts in my head, I carry on sorting everything out into their piles while wondering where to start with this mystery.

Murder's POV

I watch as he tucks his sister into bed. I used to do that at one point. Belle loved me, but now? She pays no attention to me. Just like him. They have disowned me and don't care anymore. Well I'm about to make them care. Time to plot my next move.

This... this game. It's so much more fun than I thought. I smirk as I watch Belle sleeping. Looks like I have my next move.
