はじめまして-nice to meet you, how do you do.

These next few basically mean the same thing.

よろしく- look after me in the future, my regards
どうぞよろしく-(fairly polite)
よろしくおねがいします-(more polite)
どうぞよろしくおねがいします-(most polite)

When to use these?

Let's say I just moved to a new school. I'm in front of the class about to introduce myself because Im new.

みちこ: こんにちは。わたしはみちこです。よろしくおねがいします。
-hello. I'm michiko. Look after me in the future.

There! I just introduced myself to the class!

Remember!
Only use はじめまして when
you meet someone for the
very first time.

thank you!
ありがとう-thank you (casual)
ありがとごさざいます-thank you (polite)
どもありがとございます-thank you (very polite)
いいえ-no, not at all
どういたしまして-your welcome

Yumiko dropped something and Daisuke picked it up for her.

ゆみこ:ありがとごさいます(^-^)
だいすけ:いいえ

-yumiko: thank you
-daisuke: not at all
