He grunted, "What are you doing here?"
How clueless could this kid be?
I sighed, "Yea, nice to see you too. I'm your new tutor."
His eyes went wide. "No, no, this must be a mistake. You are NOT tutoring me." Then, he proceeded to pout like a 5 year old. That was so cute and I wanted to melt right there on the spot, but I had to maintain my sturdy image.
I sighed, then started talking. "Look, I don't like this as much as you don't like it."
"Tell me about it," he said under his breath.
I rolled my eyes and was about to retort to what he just said but I almost forgot that I had to get to know him before anything else. Plus, I was on a time limit. I continued, "But, I was instructed to get to know you a little better. What's your favorite subject?"
Instead of responding, he closed his eyes and folded his arms, and to top it all off, he tilted his head slightly up. "I'm not telling you anything until you apologize."
What an immature kid.
"Gee, Sorry for hitting you with my locker. It was an accident." I put my hand on my hip and said, "Now, can we get to know a little about each other?"
The kid loosened up and groaned. He let out a small sigh. "Fine. Let's go somewhere that doesn't smell like rotten eggs and spoiled milk, first."
He then grabbed my wrist and dragged me through the halls. I tried to get loose, but his grip was too tight.
"Where are you taking me?" I questioned, attempting to pull away, even though it was no use.
He responded, "Shhh. Let's just go. And stop trying to resist my grip. You know you like it."
My cheeks got hot and red. That's embarrassing. I think he saw me because he smirked a little bit.
I looked at the ground so that I wouldn't have to see his face.
After 10 minutes of walking, we appeared at some house. It was beautiful, and huge. Heck, it was so big, I could've mistaken it for a mall!
He grabbed his key from his pocket and unlocked the door. When he twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open, I was amazed.
It was an off-white color on the inside, with bookshelves on the right hand side when you first walk in, and his living room packed with the latest video games to your left, along with the kitchen.
We went up the staircase to a closed room door that read, 'Do not enter unless you want to die'. I walked in a little hesitantly, expecting there to be clothes on the floor, and maybe the room smelling terrible, but instead, it was clean.
Despite his personality at school, it wasn't what I imagined it to be. The bed was made, no clothes on the floor. In fact, the floor looked like it had just been vacuumed! On top of it all, the room smelled like a cherry scented candle.
I inhaled the fresh scent, letting it sit in my system. Little did I know that Jerrimiah was watching me the whole time, with him shaking his head in disappointment.
Then, he walked over to the bed, sitting down. I stood there waiting for him to give me permission to sit on his bed.
It was a long, awkward silence. I squirmed around a bit, not knowing what to do. He finally broke the silence.
"What are you waiting for?! Bring your little butt on the bed!" With that, I quickly walked over to the bed and planted my behind on the edge.
There was another awkward silence, and of course, Jerrimiah broke it again.
"So, are you going to ask me questions or are you going to sit there looking like a dufus?" he questioned.
I retorted, "Hey, you could be asking about me too!"
"Fine. Being the bigger person that I am, I'll start," he said. "Do you like me?"
My cheeks were red hot like fire. "Uh, n-no. W-where-- why w-would y-you think something l-like that?" He laughed at my struggling of words.
He pointed at me, "That's why."
"Did you really need to know whether I like you or not?" I asked.
He replied with a smug smile. "Yes."
