I'm Mac, a kid no one knows. I have zero friends, because, apparently, nerds are "not cool". I mean, at least we're smart!
Populars are just so annoying. With their awesomely toned skin, and the girl's luscious hair. Oh, what am I saying. I should be studying, but I can't stop thinking about Jerrimiah Walker.
Jerrimiah is the cutest kid in the school. Every girl is in love with him, except me. He's just another one of those players who just hump and dump for a living.
He has a gorgeous mocha skin tone. His hair is a little nappy, but that's how I like it. He always has the nicest shoes and he is just so friggin cute! Wait, I don't like Jerrimiah.
Ugh, why does he have to be so perfect?!
My thoughts were rudely interrupted by Cassie, aka the school bully. I hate her, yet I envy her. She knows it too, which explains why she still does it.
"So, I see you're daydreaming about Jerrimiah. What a pathetic loser," she snickered. "He's mine. Don't even try."
I rolled my eyes at that girl. She is evil! "Suck it, Cassie. Get a life."
Her jaw dropped at what I just said. Maybe I shouldn't have said that..
Then, she smirked. "Oh, I have a life. Looks to me, sweetie, he doesn't even know you exist." She continued. "Quite frankly, I don't think anyone at this school knows who you are. You're just a little nobody here." And with that, she was gone.
I hate her.
I walked down to my locker and put in the code. It took me like ten tries, but I finally got it. By the time I was done, the halls were clear. I don't know why, but I was pretty happy. No ramming in the halls, no screaming, it was peaceful.
I strolled down the hallway to get to Math. When I opened the door, I soon realized why the halls were clear. I was late. All, I mean all eyes were on me. I hated attention. My cheeks soon went red of embarrassment.
Mrs. Pinocchio lowered her glasses a bit to look at me, then put them back up.
"Is there a reason as to why you are late, Ms. Vanderscuff?" the old lady queried.
I simply shook my head and headed to my seat. She returned her attention to her desk. "Alright children, do pages 70-72 in your math book."
I had already done those pages in my spare time.
Hey, I told you I was a nerd!
A long, boring 30 minutes went by until the bell rang. I packed my things as quickly as I could so I wouldn't be late again, but, unfortunately, Mrs. Pinocchio caught me before I could step out.
I slowly spun around on my heel to walk to her table.
She started, "Mac, I see you have all As in your classes. You are such a smart girl." She went on and on about how amazingly talented I was.
Yea, yea. Tell me something I don't know. While looking into the air, dozing off, I heard a phrase in particular I don't think I heard right.
"Excuse me?" I asked, worry evident in my voice.
I think she picked up on my fear and tried to reassure me. "Oh, it's ok sweetheart. He'll be a pleasure to tutor! I'll make sure of it. If you have any problems with him, tell me and I will handle it right away."
Before she could signal me to leave, I asked her what the person's name was so I could write it down.
"Oh, his name is Jerrimiah Walker. Thank you so much, Mac. We really need someone smart to tutor him."
My heart immediately dropped right then and there. Of all people, they chose ME to tutor HIM!
I cleared my throat, then answered. "You're welcome. Just glad I could help."
"Alrighty then. He agreed to meet after school to get to know you a bit." Mrs. Pinocchio said, looking through the papers on her desk.
"Ah, here." She picked up a notecard with some writing on it and read it aloud. "You two are meeting right after the last bell rings, in the cafeteria." She read.
"Thanks. I'll try to remember that. Bye."
The old lady called after me, "No, thank you!"
I twirled around and walked away. I had agreed to tutor the Jerrimiah Walker.
What have I gotten myself into this time?!
So many thoughts flustered my mind. I shook my head to get rid of them. I had school to focus on.

"Watch it! I'm walkin' here!"
"Ow! You stepped on my hand!"
"You guys are trampling me!"
"My face!"
"Move outta my way!"
Those are the kids roaring in the hall to get to lunch. It's only pizza today. You haven't heard anything, yet. Trust me, when it's Cheese Stix day, it's chaos. Worse than trying to get an Justin Beiber concert ticket with a bunch of 13-year-old girls.
I rammed my way to the front of the line, where I just happen to bump into Jerrimiah. Talk about a rubbish day!
"Can I help you?" he asked, folding his arms and squinting his eyes like I was something his spoiled dog, Killer, left in the backyard.
What a rude little prick.
"Uh, I was just- um, I was just, err, chicken tenders.. I was trying to-"
"Uh, eh, ooh, er," he repeated in a mocking tone. "Just don't do it again."
"Ok. I'm sorry," I said.
I wonder how he's gonna react when I tell him that I'm his new tutor..
I waited patiently in line for, like, 10 minutes. I let people walk all over me, even though I know I shouldn't.
When it was my turn in line, I asked nicely for mashed potatoes, just so it wouldn't go to waste. The lunch lady grunted and scooped it up, then plopped it on my tray. She never talks! All she does is grunt all day, and come to think of it, I've never seen her smile. What a shame.
I scanned my card and sat in the same seat I sit in everyday. Alone. I took a bite out of my pizza, then drank my juice. Ever had Passion fruit juice? Yea, that's what I had. So juicy...
After lunch was over, I went to my locker to get my books for French. I opened my locker in the crowded halls. Then as soon as I flipped it open, I heard a loud bang. I closed my locker to only see Jerrimiah, again, but this time even more angry. I had hit him right in between his eyebrows. He gave me this death glare, then walked away to the nurse with his hand on his head.
This kid hates me.
