I wake up and stretch a little before looking past Luke and out of the window. “Luke wake up we are here” I say nudging him a bit harder than I had intended. Luke shot up then just glared at me. “Luke we are here” I say pointing out the window. He looks out the window and I watch his face light up as he sees America for the first time. Luckily for us we somehow got a direct flight into the Atlanta airport. The plane ride was long, but Luke was good company. We exit the plane and head straight to our hotel. Usually I would have just found an old friend to stay with, but given the current circumstance I decided a hotel would be safer. We were both really tired so we ordered some room service. Luke went to take a quick shower and I threw on my pajamas and went straight to bed. I am a light sleeper so I noticed when Luke’s shower went off. I heard him put on some clothes then mess with some stuff on the floor. I look down at him. “Luke you know you don’t have to sleep on the floor. I don’t mind if you want to come sleep up here with me.” I say seeing how uncomfortable the floor looks. Technically we aren’t sleeping together because that has a naughty meaning, we are simply sleeping next to each other in the same bed. Completely different. “I’m fine on the floor honestly Kaylee, Melody. I mean Melody. It is going to be so hard to get used to calling you that.” Luke says from the floor. “Luke seriously get your butt up here. I promise I don’t bite.” I say patting the bed next to me. He sighs, gives me a half smile, and then joins me in the bed. We both fall asleep quickly because we were both tired from our flight.

I wake up and roll over to face the clock. I push my messy dark brown hair out of my eyes and read the time. 10:47. I should probably get up now. I turn over to look at Luke. He is still sound asleep. He isn’t wearing any pants or a shirt and his hair is all messy. Someday that sight is going to make some girl very happy. I laugh a little to myself and head over to the shower. I put my iPhone on shuffle and turn the shower on. After a bit of Jonas Brothers, Les Misérables, and Maroon 5 I step out of the shower and dry myself off. I hear Luke rustling around in the room and I hang my towel up. I decide that since I am planning on talking to my father’s boss today that I should probably wear something sort of professional. I throw on some jean capris with cuffs on the bottom, a white tank top, my coral blazer, matching coral pumps, and my coral, white, and green handbag. It looked young, funky, and had an edge of being professional. I combed through my wet hair and used a hairdryer and my hair naturally straightened itself as it dried. I put on some neutral makeup and brushed my teeth. I walked out to see Luke wearing black skinny jeans and a denim button up. “Morning” he says to me as I walk over to him. “Morning” I say plopping down on the bed. “So what is the game plan for the day?” Luke asks taking a seat next to me. “I say we go have brunch at waffle house then head straight to Mr. Dunham’s office right after that.” I suggest. Luke agrees and we head over to the nearest waffle house. I know this area like the back of my hand so I am able to guide us there without any issues. “Okay now I’m going to get the All Star platter and you can have some of it if you want because I probably won’t eat it all.” I explained to Luke as we took our seats. I bet that made no sense to him but I was home and here everything made sense to me. “Okay” Luke said chuckling at me. “Okay so do you remember the plan?” I whisper. “Yes. Your name is Kaylee. My name is Blake and I am your boyfriend. And you are ordering the All Star platter.” Luke says back to me. “Good boy” I say patting his head. I decided that we couldn’t go as our real selves in case people recognize us and I get into trouble. “How may I help you today?” a woman in her thirties with short blonde hair asked us. “I will have a diet coke and the All Star, but instead of grits can I have plain hash browns. I would like my eggs over easy and I want bacon. Oh and can I get chocolate chips on my waffle?” I say smiling up at the waitress. “I will have a water, waffle, and scrambled eggs.” Luke says after I order. The waitress leaves to go put our orders in and comes back in a minute with our drinks. Luke’s phone buzzes. He picks it up and reads the text before showing it to me. ‘Hurry back home Lukey. We have big news for you mate’ I look to see who it is from and the name says ‘CalJ’ “I wonder what it is” I say. As he takes his phone back. “He won’t tell me” Luke says looking down at his phone. “Bummer” I say playing with my straw. “So how are you liking being back home?” Luke asks me as he puts his phone away. “It is wonderful, but it feels weird coming back here as somebody else. Like I can’t tell you how many times I have eaten here with Anna or Chad and now I am eating here with you.” I say. “Who are Anna and Chad?” Luke asks me. “They were my best friends. I have known Chad for my whole life and I have been best friends with Anna ever since her junior year right before she dropped out of high school.” I say taking a sip of diet coke. “So how come I haven’t heard of them before?” Luke asks taking a sip of water. “I don’t usually like to bog down new relationships by taking about old ones.” I say nonchalantly. The waitress comes back with our food and my mouth waters. It has been forever since I have had this. “Want some?” I ask Luke once he finished his meal. He looks up at me, shyly reaches over and grabs some of my toast, then smiles. I think this boy is finally starting to feel comfortable around me. “You know you are so different than what I would have gotten at a first impression.” Luke says while eating the toast. “What do you mean?” I ask hoping he will elaborate. “Well you look like a freaking Barbie doll all the time, but then every time you open your mouth you surprise me.” Luke says as a smile plays across his lips. “You mean that based on the way I look you would automatically assume that I’m a snob and a mean girl” I say clarifying. “Well that’s not what I meant. I just mean that from the outside you seem to have everything together, but when we hang out I feel like I’m the one trying too hard.” Luke explains. “Okay now I’m seriously not following.” I say confused. “Just forget it. I don’t seem to be making much sense anymore. Don’t sweat it.” Luke says brushing it off. “No seriously tell me.” I say looking straight at him. “Honestly I don’t even know what I’m trying to say, but when I figure it out you will know.” Luke says dropping the subject for good. “Fine don’t tell me” I say getting annoyed. Luke lets out a little laugh before we finish up lunch.
