Summary:
When the first death got reported on her television screen, she knew that it wasn't going to be the last. The city took no precautionary measures, however, letting street gangs and crime to go on as always. But with her brother acting more suspicious than usual, she was worried sick and needed to vent.
What Jane really needs is a psychiatrist.
The problem? She is one.
When she decides to finally fund the idea for a health care group, she knew it won't go as she planned: A geek with severe OCD; A drug addict; A suicidal; A little brother; An anorexic; A jock with short term memory loss; and a victim of domestic abuse.
Force them all to sit together and help each other with their problems, and all hell breaks loose.
Unwanted romances start. Fights break out. A murder is investigated. Love is formed. Lies are told. Arresting threats are issued. People disappear. Lives are lost. Hearts are broken. Tables turn over.
And Jane couldn't help but think that the little town they grew up in held more secrets than it should. Secrets so poisonous, they were toxic in her own veins.

"Zamia?" He asks, amused by the way her eyes lit up. "Isn't that a plant?"
"Zamia. Also the Latin word for 'Damage, hurt, or loss.' Sums us up pretty much, doesn't it?" She gave him a sad smile.
He looks over his shoulder, at the rest of the group sitting in the circle, their posture tense yet still laughing - more out of politeness - at something Austin had said. "Yeah. It does,"

Extremely important note: This story contains some issues that are controversial and it is not intended to offend anyone. Yes, I will be talking about suicide and anorexia and no, I will not be judging or criticizing people who have it or are dealing though it. In fact, I want this book to be open to help them get through it. I'd really like you guys to start reading the story with an open mind and not with the intention of flaming it down. Just enjoy the plot and see the story unravel. I will make sure no one is offended by the way I talk about these delicate topics. If you don't like the way I am writing about a certain topic, stop reading. Thank you.
WARNINGS: There will be depressing and suicidal thoughts. There will be a lot of crime and injustice in this story - all of this is purely fictional, I am making this up as I go along. There are a few choice words in this story, and it has an overall very dark tone. You have been warned.
