Andrea;

Birthdays suck.

Who would want all the attention on them? Not me.

And thus, why I'm groaning as Leo shakes me trying to wake me up.

"I don't want to be seventeen, Leo."

"Too bad, An. You already are."

"Well, technically-"

"I know, I know. You were born at 11:30 at night. You've used that excuse since you turned 6!"

"But it's true!" I say.

He laughs at me, and I sit up and rub my eyes.

I look at the clock, 8:30.

"Crap, Leo! We have school in... Half an hour ago!"

"Calm down, we took off!"

"We did?"

"Yeah, we did."

We...

"Well... Come on! I made you pancakes. Yes, they have chocolate chips, your favorite."

"Yes... You're the best!"

"I know, I know... Come on!"

He pulls me out of my bed and practically drags me downstairs.

I sit down at the table and eat my pancakes, and Leo sits down across from me.

"What's the plan DiCrapio?"

"Keep calling me that, and there will be no plan." He jokes.

I laugh and he smiles.

"Today, birthday girl, we have a lot planned. But first, I'm going to need you to change into this..."

He pulls out a bag with clothes inside.

(outfit = image above)

I run back to my room and shower, and dress.

When I come down, Leo dramatically slowly claps.

I laugh at his cheesiness, and realize that he changed into a white button down and khakis.

He looks good. No, great.

"You look amazing." He says.

"So do you." I smile.

"Thanks. Okay, we have about 4 hours to do whatever you want. Then we have dinner at Palm's at 7:30. You ready?"

"Yep, and I know exactly what I want to do." I grab his hand and pull him to my backyard.

"And, what-" He laughs. "What would that be?"

"I wanna watch the Jungle Book!"

"Of course, how did I not guess that?"

"Not sure, but let's go!"

We sit on the porch couch and set up the projector that is set up on the wall.

I watch the movie and lay my head on Leo's shoulder.

---time pass---

The movie finishes at 6:45, giving us plenty of time to head to my favorite restaurant. I've eaten here with Leo for the past 12 years, and there's no place I'd rather be.

"Happy birthday, An." Leo says, on the way to Palm's.

"Not my birthday yet, but I accept your wishes."

"Thanks..." He says sarcastically.

Once we arrive, the familiar doorman greets us.

"Hey Brice, how's it going?" Leo and Brice are friends.

"Great, man. Happy birthday Andrea."

"Thanks. Come on Leo."

We enter the restaurant and I see my mom and dad sitting at a table.

"Your table awaits, madam." Leo says in a weird accent.

(think of the Titanic scene when he's about to draw Rose, and she's like 'Is the lighting okay?' and he's like 'I'm not used to working in such horrible conditions.' in a really funny accent)

I laugh at him, and walk over to my parents, following Leo.

"Hey mom, dad."

"Hey honey, happy birthday." My mom says.

"Sorry we couldn't catch you this morning, but we knew Leo here would take good care of you. Didn't you Leo?" My dad says.

I kiss them on the cheeks and then sit next to Leo.

We order, and eat, and talk about everything in existence. It was nice to be with my family and best friend.

About an hour after our arrival, my parents leave to go home, and Leo brings me to his car.

"I've got an evening of fun planned for just us two."

"Really?"

"No, we're going to my house to watch movies and eat food!"

"That is my type of night DiCrapio."

"Don't make me change my mind!"

"Wouldn't dream of it."

---

*11:30 exactly*

"Happy birthday Andrea."

"Thanks, Leo."

"No problem."

There's silence for a moment.

"Do you not see how much I'm in love with you?" He says.

He places a kiss on my lips and I deepen it by placing my hands around his neck.

Best birthday ever.
