Chapter one

April 2nd 2012

Sunday: 7:29 am.

"Again" I thought to myself, "I woke up one minute before my set alarm." I sighed as I pulled my covers over my legs, and over towards the wall. Sitting there, with my hand hovering over the alarm I waited for the song Highway To Hell to fill the silence of the room.

'Livin' easy
Lovin' free
Season ticket on a one way ride
Askin' nothin'...'

Listening to AC/DC in the morning made me feel refreshed and prepared for what the day would throw at me.

I pushed down the button shutting out the catchy song that echoed in the rectangle-like space. Slowly getting up, taking a deep breath and walking towards my door which lead to the kitchen, I quietly came upon my biological mother sitting at the table by herself. All I could hear was the sound of cereal crunching.
"Good morning mother," I kissed her on the cheek "how's your cereal? Would you like me to cook you something with more taste?" A glance, and a shake of the head was all I recieved, and the only response I had recieved for the last 4 ½ years.

I wandered over to the bench and got a bowl out of the bottom cupboard. As I sat down, I glanced upwards and looked at the lady' eyes in front of me.

"She's not my mother anymore..." I convinced myself again. I've already been through the stage where my chest was tight and my heart ached. "She's just no longer here, she's a completely different person". Its not completely her fault she's like this, but as time goes on I can't help but feel a burning rage deep within me.

I want her to remember my name..

I want her to remember my face..

I want her to remember me.

But she was in an accident, and lost her memories. A truck rammed into the front of the passengers side, killing her 'friend' and badly injuring her.

I always thought that was pretty cliché, but as life is full of surprises, its not like there were no possibilities of this happening.

I quickly soon discovered that my mother was in the hospital when the cops had came to the house in the middle of the night. At 8 years old, and half asleep, I didn't really comprehend much of what was being told to me. It kind of just slipped through one ear and out the other. They took me and my father to the hospital to see the survivor; my mother. We were really shocked when the doctors had stopped us and pulled us away to the side. It seemed she was in a coma. They couldn't guarantee she'd wake up. I remember looking up at my father as the bad news was reported to him. He was really composed. It terrified me.

She didn't wake up until a year later. By the time she opened her eyes, and realized where she was, father had already left us. The fees for keeping her were too much, and her now having amnesia put too much strain on him, or so I thought.

The police and some detectives later re-opened the case and started investigating around the place, interrogating friends, family, neighbors, and people who witnessed the incident.
They even asked me questions regarding if my mother had anyone who had a grudge against her. And as I was a kid, they asked in a more friendly manner than with the adults.

As time slowly moved on the case continued. There were things that didn't add up, like the dissaperance of the truck which smashed into my mothers car, and also the dissaperance of my father. There were also the discoveries of the irregular angle which the truck came from and the speed of how fast it was.

They concluded that it was not an accident but intentional with the substantial evidence they found. People started questioning the cops about the case and poking their nose where they shouldn't of. The cops didn't leak anything out at this time of point, even though the persistancy of everyone wanting to know was intense. All we knew was something was going on. Everything seemed very suspicious and the more I started thinking if it was just a simple accident, the more I started doubting.

And on April the 29th, 2010, my birthday, they found more details from a lady named Susan; one of my Mothers colleagues. She explained how she knew my mother, what it was like with her, anyone suspicious and then finally, she informed the cops of the affair between Mum and one of the CEO's working in the same business. The person who was in the car with Mother at the time of her injury and his own death, was Mark, the man having the affair with her.

I was disgusted at this fact. On the day when I turned 11 I found out my mother was cheating on father, which shattered all the trust built between us. The cops had to find the father for further information- they had a theory that the husband had hired someone to kill the wife, because their was a possibility that the husband knew what was going on between the two.

They were exactly correct.

After finding father, and pretty much accusing him of hiring and attempting murder of his wife, he broke under the pressure and told every single detail he knew to the cops, including the whereabouts of the hitman. 27 years in prison for Father and 35 years for the hitman. As they couldn't find any evidence of the others he had killed.

Case closed.

And so now I got mother back, and we're living in Grandma's house right now. Even though she still doesn't have her memory back and is emotionless, this is a
normal
happy family.

This was probably the start of my psychotic illness.
