Yugi x Reader Tournament Chapter 1

Yugi, Tea, Tristan and Joey were walking to their friend Duke's game shop. They had all just gotten out of school for the weekend, and Joey especially seemed very happy about it. "Man, TGIF am I right?"

Joey exclaimed aloud as he stretched his arms in the air behind his back. "My-hm. Definitely." Tea responded. "Yeah, it's a really nice day today." Yugi commented. "You seem really excited for this weekend Joey." Tristan said. "Totally! It feels like forever since we had a day off!" Yugi and Tea laughed.

Walking down the street nearly to Duke's, Joey stopped seeing a poster on the wall of a building they were walking past. "What is it Joey?" Tea asked, everyone stopping a few feet after him. "Wow Yugi look at this!" Yugi stepped next to his significantly taller friend, looking at the poster. "It's a dueling tournament." Yugi announced. "Cool." Tristan now looking at the poster to from behind.

"And it says it's next week." Tea pointed out. "Yugi, we should totally enter! It looks like a big one!" "I don't know..." Yugi replied unsurely. "How about we ask Duke about it?" Tea suggested. "Sounds like a plan!" Tristan responded. The four of them walked the rest of the way to their friends shop. They reached Duke's place and all sat down in a private room in the shop on chairs and couches. "Long time no see guys, what's up?" "Hi Duke." Yugi greeted their friend kindly.

"Sup Duke?" Tristan added in, Tea greeting him too. "Hey." "Duke, man, have you heard about the tournament next week?" Joey asked excitedly. "Tournament?" Duke asked. "Yeah look." Joey pulled out a folded poster out of his back pocket. "Joey, you took the poster?" Tea asked scoldingly. "We had to show Duke right?"

Tea rolled her eyes. Duke examines the poster that was now unfolded on the coffee table in front of them. "Oh yeah, I think I read something about this online. Apparently some unknown host is having it." "Really?" Tristan asked sounding curious. "Yeah, and from what I read in the comments, I bet there's gonna be a couple cute chicks there too." Duke said winking.

"Why, are you guys planning on entering it?" "Totally!" Joey nearly shouted. "Well..." Yugi trailed off. "Come on!" Joey pushed. "Yeah, you guys haven't been in a tournament for a while." Tea tried helping to persuade him. Yugi looked down at his feet.

'Why not Yugi?" Yami suddenly thought to him. 'Oh, pharaoh.' 'Why don't you want to do the tournament?' 'I don't know, I just haven't been in one in a while.' 'It could be fun.' '...I guess, yeah, okay.' "Okay guys, sounds like fun." Yugi said aloud. "Awesome!" Joey cheered. Tea was smiling.

"Cool, maybe I'll watch it then." Duke commented in. "Watch it?" Tristan repeated questioningly. "Yeah, their broadcasting it on TV." "How do you know?" Tea asked. "It says it right here on the poster." Duke answered pointing to the corner of the poster. "Really? Sweet." Joey once again cheered. Yugi looked at the poster for a moment, then smiling enthusiastically. "Yeah, I bet it'll be great."
