Luminescence:

But I was to afraid at first to leave my canvas.
I'd miss my calm colors,
My personal spaces,
What would happen to them,
If I was to take the chance of
Replacing comfort for adventure,
And calm for thrill?

I wasn't in a rush for change.
I took the smallest of steps,
The slowest of breaths,
The easiest of risks,
And the steadiest of rests
Towards mixing old colors for something true.

I started spreading out into all four corners,
Like the first word in a chapter,
Just a spot of paint,
Waiting to be whisked around
Into an even bigger picture.
I started to broaden my horizons,
Moving to different strokes,
Wherever the brush would lead me.

No longer were the days,
When I looked out a faded window,
Where I longed after a luminescent heart.

I was met with a turqoise of intelligence,
Which accompanied a spark of knowledge.
From elsewhere came a navy blue,
A soothing feel of a friend's support and help.
Worthy of mention as well,
Was the encouraging pale pink,
Which inspired to aspire,
And vice-versa.

My crystal heart, my glowing soul,
Started to fade out of their antiquities,
Opening up to uniquities,
Changing from empty shades of grey,
To radiant dyes of feeling.

Unexpectedly a spell came over me,
With a stampede of butterflies approaching,
A rosy pink appeared next to me,
Matching the noticable blush of my cheeks.

An opposite of epic beauty,
Brightly shining an awe-inspiring white light
Of innocence, wonder, and curiosity.
Fragile, like any creation on this Earth,
But no less breathtaking.

My head skipped over my heels,
All my colors seemed lighter,
I was living in a filter
That covered up darkness,
Hid away pain,
And blinded the night away.

I chased after her,
She awaited me,
I started taking out my heart,
As she did the same.
Although we contrasted in different aspects of color,
We comparisoned in our search of pure hearts.
It wasn't perfect,
But it was love,
A color beyond compare.
