"Remember to come home before 8 okay?" My mom told me before kissing my cheek. I laughed and walked towards the door before answering.
"Mom, I already know. You tell me that literally everyday. It already melted in my brain" I told her and opened the door to walk to school. The only reason I actually obey her to come home early, is because she always locks everything in the house at 8 sharp. Not once did I disobey her about it, so I wasn't ever locked out of the house.
And also, I'm a little freaked out from the story she always tells me about. It's about a man who has been cut in half and drags himself everywhere. He tries to get you if you're out before 8. But of course, being a teenager. I don't believe in that nonsense.
------------
I got out of school late and I hope my mom doesn't get mad. I got out of school late because I decided to hang a bit with my friends at the library and just chill outside. I'm pretty sure my mom won't notice since she's always in the kitchen or at her room watching tv. My school is pretty far and they told me I could take a bus. But I chose not to because I like having a long walk.
"Hm?" I just realized that it was getting pretty dark, but I took my time. Wait.. I looked down at my watch. It's 9:32 pm, my mom already locked the door, thinking that I was up in my room. I sighed and felt chills run down my spine. I wrapped my hands around me and shivered.
"It got pretty cold quick.." I told myself. I looked around and it's already dark. Luckily my I'm almost home. I can see it but it's still pretty far.

I froze and looked behind me without hesitation. I felt like caughing but I forced it in. I turned back forward and quickened my pace. I heard the sound again and felt my face go hot.
Clink clink, drag
Clink clink, drag
Clink clink, drag
Oh my god, it's going faster! I didn't hesitate and dashed towards my house. Almost there!
Clink clink, drag
Clink clink, drag
Cling cling, drag
It's going faster, oh god! I don't even want to look back. I made it! I opened the gate and ran to the door to open it. No no no! it's locked. I banged on the door and yelled.
"MOM! OPEN THE DOOR! OPEN THE DOOR!" I yelled. I heard on more sound.
Clink clink drag....
-------------
I yawned and opened my eyes from my bed. Weird, I didn't hear my daughter leave for school. She better not have stayed! I got up and barged in her room. Hm? I guess she did go since her bag isn't here.
"Oh well, time to make some breakfast!" I sang and dances to the kitchen. I made some coffee and drank some until I remembered that the mail came yesterday. I put my coffee down and put some slippers on. I unlocked the door and opened it.
I looked down and almost shrieked but covered my mouth. It was my daughter.. She was cut in half! I saw a piece of paper on her chest and quickly snacked it in my hand. It's wad in neat handwriting and in cursive.
You should've left the door unlocked
I dropped the note and fainted.
