Ryan's P.O.V

My fingers flew across the calculator, my eyes watching and recording every calculation, formula and digit. Pages of formulas and theories were neatly printed across the pages of my math book. I set the calculator down and nodded.
I loved math. The way numbers could explain anything. It just all made sense, it just came to me naturally.

Placing the book in my bag, I pulled my coat all little tighter seeing the violent storming outside. Yelling a last goodbye, my mum sent a tired wave to me, and handed me my lunch. I gave her a smile, her tired green eyes, exactly the same as mine, followed me as I made my way out to the bus stop.

I was sprinting towards the bus stop, my eyes squinting to see ahead of me. My dark brown hair looked horrid and flat, and my feet were squelching in the rain. Finally making it to the grimy bus stop, I sighed and leant across the pole. The uncomfortable coldness I felt pretty much everywhere told me that this was just going to be another awful day.

Finally, the bus pulled up. I could already hear the taunts before I even stepped foot on the run down bus.
"Aww, poor little nerd had to run all the way to the bus stop!"
I just lowered my head.
"As if he could run that far!"
Gritting my teeth, I just shuffled down the bus aisle.
"True, his only talent is, well, nothing!" A loud voice jeered, before I felt hands shoving me down the aisle. I already knew who's hands were shoving me around. It was Angus, who was basically like king of the whole bloody school. A.ways taunting me as his brainless pack of idiots followed and copied his every move. I tried to ignore there taunts and snide comments that seemed to float around me.
"Pathetic"
"What a wimp"
"Useless"
Sighing, I just sunk into my seat, ignore the uncomfortable squishing sound as I did. I stared out of the the bleak grey window, watching the rain lash down in heavy sheets. Even Angus and his idiot pack were silent as we all ran into the school.
"Oi, nerd, come back here!" I turned and saw Angus jeering at me.
"I was wondering, that homework for maths, you probably did it considering you have no social life, right?"
Everyone around us snickered.
"No way Angus, not again" I stammered nervously. I already knew what he wanted.
"Well too bad nerd!" He laughed. His idiot friends grabbed my backpack as they ripped my math book inside of it to shreds. I cried as I watched my formulas, that I had spent hours perfecting, fly past me. They collected in a soggy pile near my feet.
Don't cry, don't Cry! A silent voice screamed in my head. The bell rang as the crowds disappeared. Angus gave me one last look, a smug smirk fixed firmly in his face. Being the coward I was, I just looked away. Picking up my scraps of paper, I too joined the crowds and made my way to class.

-time skip to the end of the day!-

I was exhausted, after having physical torture for my last period. I still don't get why some people enjoy sport, it. Add me sore and sweaty, gross and tired. Heading out the school gates, I anxiously tried to blend in with the crowds, I really didn't want another run in with Angus and his idiot squad. Luckily, I saw them handing across the fields to the shops, with a bunch of girls.
Climbing on the bus, I sat on the empty seat at the front, and fiddled with my back packs straps. Finally reaching my stop, I muttered a quiet thanks to the bus driver, then started my walk home.

Almost immediately, I was attacked a tiny pink bundle.
"Hey Rosie, you look really pretty today!" I said, in a slightly high pitched voice. She giggled, and did a twirl. She was dressed in a poofy pink princess dress, and had ribbons in her dark brown hair. She smiled and ran off, back into the living room. My smile started to vanish, watching her as she ran. I loved my little sister to bits, and I know she adored me as well. I just wished she'd speak to us. Rosie has never spoken, and no one could tell us why.

I trudged up the stairs to my small bedroom, flicking on the light. And then I did what I did every single night. Sat at my desk, and did my homework, and then extra. I sigh irritatingly to myself.

Angus was right, I really don't have a social life.
