To see beyond

Do you have the ability to see beyond?
To see those wonders hidden in each
grain of sand?

Do you have the ability to see past the veil
Many souls wear to hide what they feel?

Will you see the gentle soul behind the hideous mask
Painfully tangled with the strings of his past?

Beauty is scattered all around this earth,
Yet few has the eye to see it for its worth.

It's overshadowed by the curses framed by careless tounges,
Trapped in the haunted melody that lonely sailors sang.

It's hiding behind the torch of ire,
Obscured by man's mundane desires.

Maybe we should look not with our eyes.
We should find it through our tranquil minds.

Maybe we'll find it in silence, where we'd hear the truth,
Like trees growing from the strength of their roots.

Maybe in darkness, in the absence of light
Where one burning candle will illuminate the night.

Where your inner sight would be clearer than a crystal glass,
Where your heart would be willing to give its trust.

It's all around us, just look not with your eyes,
Look with your heart dear, it knows where to find.
