Ariel:

*Ring, ring, ring.*

Ariel grabbed her phone from the holder and checked the caller I.d. Jamie Parker, her fiancé.

"Hey!" she answered happily

"Hey Ari, I just called to tell you that I'm on my way home from work, I should be there in about 10 minutes."

"Are you driving right now? Do you have any idea how dangerous it is to talk on the phone while driving? Its illegal now you know." She said, worry thick in her voice

"I know, I'm sorry... I'll talk to you when I get home, I love you."

"I love you too." She said just before he hung up the phone

Jamie:

"I love you too." Said his beautiful fiancée. He was so excited! He stopped at a flower shop and picked up the hybrid purple roses that he ordered a couple weeks ago for Ari, just before he called her.

He knew that she would love them, purple is her favorite colour and roses are her favorite flower. He pulled his cell phone away from his ear and looked down to press the end button.

When he looked up, he immediately regretted the phone call. He had just run a red light and now he watched helplessly as a transport came speeding towards him, unable to stop in time as to not hit him.

He was glad that he had got to say I love you to Ariel, before now, as he knew his short life was over. To him, it looked seemed like slow motion as the transport slammed into his door. His last thought was "I'm sorry, Ari." Pain engulfed him but it was gone as quick as it came and peace washed over him.

Officer Dowdall:

Officer Ethan Dowdall had just gotten off work, and was headed home for the night. He was following a transport down the highway and almost slammed into the back of it when it stopped abruptly.

He reconized the sound of crushing metal and quickly jammed his car into park. He grabbed his cell phone and ran to the front of the transport, where sure enough a car was molded around the front of the transport.

He dialed 911 and reported the accident and under a minute later he heard the sirens of his fellow officers and paramedics rushing to the scene.

It was clear by the condition of the car that there was no way the person in the drivers seat could be alive. He helped officer Michael Durrant set up a detour after a quick call home to tell his wife that he would be late getting home.

She didn't pick up the first time he called, so he had to try again.

"Helloo?" She shouted into the phone, sounding annoyed.

"There was just an accident, I have to go help Michael set up a detour, and help with the clean up, I'm sure it will be awhile, so you shouldn't wait up, I'm sorry love."

"So what you're saying is that you're going to be home late. Again. Ethan! I----" She was very angry, and shouting when he cut her off, "I don't have time to get into this argument again right now, I have to get back---." She hung up on him, before he could finish and say, "I love you"

Once he and Michael had the detours all set, they headed back to the scene of the accident. They unofficially identified the body, with the i.d. that was in the vehicle, as Jamie Parker, but further testing would have to be done to know for sure.
