Trouble

Trouble is, you think you had time.

She was just some naive girl that can't stand straight on her own. That was all he ever saw in her. She's smart but dreamy, pampered yet a little shy, and had in her naturally the look that sways every guy's hearts.

Not that he's not raptured. But he had always had strong will, so it looked like he's the only one survived from that 'black magic'.

But truth to be told, he had always been holding on. Other girls might got his interest, but she held special place in his heart. And that's what had been going on for a while.

Thanks to some math problem he got closer than most of the guy that ever got close to her. Actually, some part was her bravery's deed. By the time they're moving into steady conversation via texts, he's almost certain she had feelings for him. But as nothing big's going on inside his heart, he did none--special place, yes. More serious intimacy, no. Not yet.

On another texting day, he felt like watching a movie. Not something big, though, but, his friends, they're like all over it. Not that he cared, but then he got this crazy idea on his mind to test her. To decide whether she's ready to step into yet another level of relationship.

Because maybe he started to think about it.

She blew him off. Blew it all off. What they'd got, anything. From then on, he stopped believing, hard and sour. That there could be a future between them.

For instance, how could she handle rough path ahead of them if she couldn't handle meeting some of his friends--that she hasn't met before? It's only a little part of his world, that's totally harmless to boost, and she give in just yet? What a letdown.

He lost interest. Stopped calling. He knew, he knew now, that it's a cruel prejudice on his side, and he's not actually being fair. Even now, he's always torn between his regret and pride whenever he thinks about this. She reached out like crazy after that, but at that time, it's only good to ruin his feeling even more. Till he had enough, and claim a random girl to be his.

Not that they lasted long. But at least the relationship cleared his mind about her. Until it's time to go overseas. Studying. Working hard. Pursuing his dreams. Hoping someday, when he got a better self to prove, she's still there waiting.

Only to see the mini her glancing at him all clueless and cute.

Naive. Too naive. Just like him.
