"You know you don't have to do this, right?" Bev says
"How many times do I have to say this?! It's your birthday and we are having dinner and I am freaking paying for it!" I yell and Bev looks at me before laughing
"You're funny when you're mad"
"Oh just kill me now" I mutter under my breath and the doors to Bev and Sky's apartment open.
"I'm so sorry I'm late. Happy birthday Bev!" Sky says as she walks through the door
"FINALLY! We're supposed to go to dinner ya know? Where were you Sky?" I exclaim.
I had made reservations at a fancy Italian restaurant for 7 o'clock. Do you know what time it is now....ITS 8!
You see, every year we have a sort of agreement. It rotates every year. This year I'm in charge of what we do on Bev's birthday. Sky is in charge of mine and Bev is in charge of Sky's.
Next year, I'll be in charge of Sky's, Bev in charge of mine and Sky in charge of Bev's. I went all out this year, with this reservation because I remembered that Bev went to this restaurant once with her family and she loved it so much but she never got a chance to go back because it was kind of expensive. However, I got a raise and I started saving up so I could afford it. But now, I think we probably missed our reservation because of Sky.
"I'm so sorry! I was...preoccupied" she hesitates
"With something more important than your best friend's birthday?" I ask and she grimaces
"I know you're mad but if we leave now we might still make the reservation" she says hopefully and I glare
"Yes...let's do that" I huff and grab my jacket before leaving the apartment. We all walk down to Sky's car and get it.

Well, it's safe to say we didn't get to eat at that fancy Italian restaurant. They were quite rude if I say so myself.
"Don't worry guys I have a back up" I say as confidently as I can and Bev gives me a disbelieving look
"No you don't." Bev chuckled
"I know" I say and slump in the car
"Wait! We can go to Riley's!" I exclaim. Riley's was a restaurant/arcade/ice skating rink.
"Ok then" Sky says as she starts driving. Minutes later we arrive and I hop out of the car.
"Let's eat first" Bev says and I nod before making my way into the restaurant section of the place. We take a seat at a booth.
"Hello, welcome to Riley's! What would you like to order?" A teenage girl smiles at us
"I'll have the bacon blue cheese burger" Sky says as she looks over the menu
"Mushroom tortellini for me please" I smile
"Um, I would like to have the chicken quesadillas." Bev responds handing her the menu
"Anything to drink?" the waiter replies after writing it all down in her notepad
"Can I have a bud light?" Sky says and the waiter nods before asking
"Can I see your ID?"
"Sure" Sky says and pulls it out. The waiter nods and looks at Bev and I.
"Virgin Pina colada please" I say
"Water for me" Bev bites her lip
"So Sky, you never exactly told us where you were earlier" Bev smirks
