She listens to him. His soft, tender voice makes her wonder what she's got to loose. Sure, he'd never look at her the way he looks at other girls. Sure, his mindset and morals are much different than hers. He's a good kid, and she doesn't want to ruin him.
She would ruin him.
When he finishes speaking, he looks over at her, and her heart flutters in anticipation. Her mind races to a thousand thoughts for that was the first time she's ever shared a glance with the boy. She knows his name.

It's soft and sweet just like his personality. She's watched him from afar. She knows how amazing he is in everything he does. Captain of the soccer and swim varsity teams, straight-A student, involved in every club and activity he can possibly be involved in.
He's perfect, and here she is drooling over something that will never happen.
When the bell rings, she's the first one to leave per usual. She wants to escape; to get out of a place that only brings her down farther. Then, she hears his voice. The sweet tone that pulls her in so far she can't escape.
