My Little Mermaid
You’re an ocean, a home where your
Deep thoughts reside in dark coves.
Under the sea, you mean so much to me,
You’re the mermaid that everybody loves.
You’re the ink in my pen,
The sheets of paper in my notebook,
The graphite in my favorite 2B pencil.
You’re the other smile in my picture that I just took.
You’re the purr in a cat,
The music blasting in our ears,
The wind whipping our hair at the beach.
You encourage me through all my fears.
You’re my best friend
And my sister!
And we’ve made a long bucket list together,
So, I promise to play messy twister.
There are so many things
I couldn’t do without you.
Writing, and art,
And getting over my blues.
You’re the calming waters
In my life of much disorder.
Living under the sea, you mean a lot to me.
Even though you might be a bit shorter!
