"I don't think that this is a good idea, Al."

"Don't be ridiculous. Just act cool about this."

The boys were sitting at a small bar in Brooklyn, having a drink. Alfred had somehow gotten fake i.ds and wanted to try them out. He was so proud of himself for getting them though his brother didn't share the excitement. Matthew was resting his head on his hand, watching his brother chat excitedly.

"Ivan should be here soon." The boy swiveled in his chair, turning to face the door, resting against the bar counter.

"Just as long as you both keep the PDA to a minimum. I still have nightmares from the last time we all hung out." Matthew shivered and shook his head, trying to get rid of the images.

"Whatever, dude.  That was different. He had to go on another business trip. I hadn't seen him in like, a month." The older stuck his tongue out at his brother before picking up his drink and taking a sip.

"Doesn't it bother you that Ivan goes away alot?"

"No. Well a little. But it's his job. He has to manage his father's business because 'No one else is capable of doing it.'" He said, mocking his boyfriends thick accent.

Matthew clicked his tongue and sighed loudly. His brother would still do whatever he wanted, no matter what he said to him. That's just always how it was. It would never change. Muttering softly, he stirred his soda with his straw, wondering how long he would be stuck here.

It didn't take too long before the Russian walked through the door, brushing a few snow flakes off his dark jacket. A smile was on his lips as he noticed the two boys, making his way over to them. "Good evening. Sorry if I kept you waiting. It's so hard to find parking."

"That's cool, man. We just got here a little bit ago. I keep telling you the trains and buses are much better than driving your car around." Alfred grinned, nudging the other man as he sat down beside him.

"And I'll keep telling you that I'm not taking public transportation. I don't like it." Ivan retorted calmly. He noticed Matthew and nodded to him in greeting, earning a nod back in return before his attention went back to his excited lover.

"Whatever. You just don't like it 'cause you got some irrational fear of germs."

"Is that what you tell yourself to sleep at night, Fredka?" The older man raised a brow, leaning forward a little to inspect the younger.

Alfred habitually leaned forward as well, putting on a sly grin. "I tell myself a lot of things, Vanya."

Matthew knew where this would be headed and grimaced, finishing his drink before excusing himself to the bathroom. Without having to even look back, he knew the moment he left, those two would be making out at the bar. They really had no shame.

The boy shook his head, pushing past people  eyes kept downward as he made his way to the bathroom. Maybe he could hide out there for a bit while those two got their fill of each other. Actually, Alfred might just leave him if he didn't return and although Matthew didn't mind going home alone,he always hated that his brother didn't even remember to talk to him first. Just leave and not tell his brother where he was going. Alfred was always an air head to begin with but when he had something enticing him, all common sense and Courtesy  just left him. It scared him the first few times, and one occasion to call the cops, resulting in Matthew having to hear his brother's complains about being cock blocked.

The boy hadn't been paying attention when he was walking, too lost in his own thoughts that he hadn't seen the man walking until he had bumped into him. Matthew yelped as a cold drink was spilled all over him, looking up.

A blonde man was standing there, bright green eyes wide. "Oh dear. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there."

Matthew just shook his head, pulling at his wet sweatshirt. The man turned to the counter to grab a few napkins. "Don't worry about it, eh? I wasn't paying attention either." He took a napkin, dabbing it across the wet stain.

"Well good thing you didn't have a drink as well or we would both be standing here like idiots." A soft chuckle left the man, his voice softly accented.

"I guess so."

"Anyway, I won't keep you long. I'm terribly sorry that happened."

The boy just waved his hand. "Really, no trouble at all. It wasn't even my favorite sweatshirt."

The man nodded his head, eying the boy over before giving a soft smile then turning back to the bar to order another drink. Matthew took it as his cue to leave to the bathroom. At least he had wasted a bit more time than having to sit there, watching his brother.

When he walked back to his brother, it wasn't surprising to see how close the two were. Alfred was practically sitting on Ivan but both seemed too deep in their conversation to notice him until he sat down.

"Jeez, Mattie. Did you get lost or just had trouble using the bathroom?" Alfred teased, pointing to the wet stain on his shirt.

"Oh shut up. Someone bumped into me and spilled their drink."

"Well was it someone cute? Did you get their name or number. C'mon man, gotta use things like this to your advantage." The elder said.

Matthew just rolled his eyes, sitting up and peering down the bar. "It's the guy at the end, with the sweater vest on."

Both Ivan and Alfred turned to look, curious as to the person was. The blond man didn't notice them, too busy talking to someone else.

"He looks like a huge nerd. Who wears dorky stuff like that?" The older boy laughed and turned back to his boyfriend, noticing how tense Ivan had suddenly become. "Ivan? What's wrong?"

The Russian was frozen for a moment before he shook out of it. "Uh, I need to go. I just remembered I had something to do."

"What? Seriously? You told me you had the day off today!" Alfred pouted, grabbing hold of the man's arm. The other easily pulled free from him, Turning to glare.

"Well I have something important to deal with. Have a good rest of your evening, Alfred."

Both brother's sat their in shocked silence, watching as Ivan's form retreated out the door quickly. It took them a moment to comprehend.

"Al, what was that about?" Matthew asked quietly.

The other shook his head slowly, shrugging his shoulders. "I have no idea, but it was super weird. Weird even for Ivan."

Matthew agreed, looking back down the bar to where the blond man had been only to see an empty spot where he had been a few minutes ago.
