Niall let out a frustrated sigh and diverted his eyes from his sympathetic friend. "You don't get it, Lou. He's my entire world. He's everything I want and everything I'll ever need. But to him, I'm just the shy loser."

Louis frowned. "That's not true Ni, you're so much more than that. He'll see."

His best friend's encouragement did nothing. Niall still felt the same. He twisted the pasta on his lunch tray with his fork absentmindedly.

"No he won't. I'm nothing to him, and frankly, that's all I'll ever be."
