"I just wanted to kiss you good bye." He pouted, eyes dropping to my lips before looking up again. "I need your attention, I'm a puppy."

"No, bad dog. Go away." I shooed, waving my hand.

"God, you two are fucking weird." Zayn sighs with a shake of his head. I turn to look at him, but Liam catches my eye because he isn't watching what was going on, he was just watching me.

"It okay to be weird." I defended against my brother. "Besides, he started it."

"Did not." Edward says, folding his arms.

"Yes, you did."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Fuck, you're being so-"

"Cute?" He interrupts. "I know. Gracie taught me."

Before I could say anything else he leans in and presses his lips gently a to my forehead, a lingering touch upon my skin.

"I'll see you later." I sigh out quietly, a little smile on my lips as I watch him nod. He says good bye to Zayn and Liam before picking my brothers keys up and heading out the door. "He knows the way?" I ask Zayn, heading over to the cabinet that held the insta-coffee.

"Of course." Zayn answers, turning in his seat to face me as I ready the mug for the microwave. "You do."

"Not really. You always take different routes, it gets confusing. I know how to get out of this area and get out of their area, but connecting the two areas are still very...challenging." I admit, the microwave seeming as if its taking forever to count down today.

I look across the large kitchen, watching my brother and Liam watch me.

"How are you?" Liam asks.

"You've already asked me that." I say, playfully being a smart ass.

"I mean, in general. With all that's gone on since the last time I saw you."

"Depends; was the last time I saw you the last time you saw me?" I pull my hot mug from the encasing machinery and brought it down on the marble countertop, taking a spoon and scooping two mounts of coffee into the steaming water.

"I saw you unconscious in the hospital. My mom and I tried to wake you up." And at his words, I froze.

"You were there?"

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you come to see me when I was awake?"

And now, at my words, he froze. He looked like he didn't want to answer my question, as if the answer itself bothered him.

"We had got busy." He finally replied and Zayn snorted, shaking his head as he leaned back against the kitchen chair he sat in.

"'Busy'." My brother laughs out quietly. "He didn't want to go in and see you because as soon as he found out Edward was the Edward everyone had spoke of, he got jealous. Because Ed is your boyfriend."

"He's not my-" I try to redirect, stirring the now milked down and sweetened coffee as I walk over to the table.

"Yes, he is." Zayn quickly and strictly said.

Was he still against his band mate and me ever having something more than friendship? Don't get me wrong, Liam is an attractive person, but I'd rather not get into anything with Zayn's band of brothers. No matter how much my mind wants to drive me to do so.

"Okay." I say with a nod, sitting at the table next to Zayn.

"Are you free tonight?" My brother asks as he watches me take a cautious sip of my hot drink. I lower the mug and look at him confused.
