Flame of the past: Natsu x Reader

A lost friend

At magnolia station

"Natsu, are you going to be alright?'' Lucy asks while looking at Natsu's pale face. He usually looks pale when he is preparing for the upcoming train ride. But this time it seem even more pale than usual. ''I'm...fine.'' Natsu says while looking at the ground. ''I don't think he is telling the truth Happy.'' Lucy says to the blue cat besides her. ''Aye sir, I haven't seen Natsu like this since the day Makarov officially declared (y/n) missing.'' Happy says while staring at Natsu. "Maybe he is just afraid of what we will find out.'' Erza says who came up to Lucy and Happy. ''I think we all are.'' Gray says. ''I don't know what to do anymore if we would find out (y/n) has actually been gone all those years. The thought of her possibly being alive was the only thing that kept me going. And I think it's the same for Natsu.'' Gray says. Lucy looked from gray to Natsu. She had no idea these guys cared so much about this (y/n). She feels a bit of jealousy coming over her. But holds it back. 'This girl might be dead Lucy what are you doing being jealous of her.' she thinks to her self. The five friends stay silent till the train arrives.

At algarda (The place of the mission)

The five friends get of the train. Lucy looks at Natsu. Even though he was almost hydro pumping his breakfast over every ones faces the entire train ride, he stayed silent. And so did the others. "Where are we supposed to go again?'' Gray asks Erza who is holding the map. There is supposed to be a village about two hours down that road. That's where we're supposed to go. The group of friends start walking down the road in silence

After about two hours a dark village appears in the distance. "Is that it guys?'' Lucy asks. No one answers. ''Guys?'' She says again. Suddenly Natsu starts running towards the village. Lucy starts yelling at him ''Eh...Natsu...I don't think that...'' Gray starts running as well. "Erza, what are they doing?'' Lucy asks. Erza sighs. ''Have you ever heard the story about how and when (y/n) joined the guild?'' Erza asks. ''No.'' Lucy says. ''Alright than, I will tell you. I joined the guild when i was really young, you know that right? And Gray and Natsu joined not too long after each other. We were all a bit older already it was about two years after I joined. But when I joined (y/n) was already there. She joined when she was really young. Because her village got attacked. She lived in a small village with a lot of wizards. She was the youngest child of the mayor. She had two older brothers. See the magic that she and her family wielded is called Soul magic. It gives her the ability to summon all kinds of souls, ghosts, spirits and demons to fight for her. It also gives her the ability to float and the ability to change her physical body non physical for an amount of time. But strongest of all her ability's, is being able to take someones soul. She can then crush it, put it back in someones body or store it in one of her Soul pearls that she wears on here at all time by wearing a magical bracelet that keeps these pearls for her and restocks them when she pull one of.'' Lucy listens to Erza's story about how strong (y/n) is and wonders. ''Erza, is (y/n) stronger than you?'' Lucy asks. Erza nods. "She was the strongest wizard of all fairy tail. Makarov might be the only one stronger than her.'' Erza says. Lucy nods. She didn't think there would be anyone stronger than Erza. "She means everything to them, both of them.'' Erza says when her and Lucy are almost at the gate of the village where Natsu and gray are waiting for them. ''I'll remember that.'' Lucy says as she and Erza join the others.

Gray and Natsu are standing in front of the gate to the village. They're just looking at it. ''He guys, where did all that energy from before go? Why aren't you rushing in to save your friend?'' Lucy asks. Everyone stays quiet. ''GUYS?" Lucy yell at them "What if she is really dead?'' Natsu mutters. ''I can feel magic energy. But it isn't hers. It resembles her. But it isn't her.'' Gray says. Erza nods. She feels it too. After a minute of waiting Lucy starts walking into the village. It looks spooky and deserted. But being scared isn't very high on anyone's list of thoughts. "Lucy? What are you doing?'' Gray asks while looking at her walking further into the village. "I'm going to save your friend. Because if I would leave it to you guys we would still be standing in front of that gate a year from now.'' Lucy says without looking back. Natsu stands up from where he was sulking and runs after Lucy. ''There is no way I would ever abandon (Y/n). Not for anything.'' He says as he starts walking next to Lucy. Erza and Gay look at each other and then start walking into the village as well. They soon catch up to Lucy, Who is still carrying a sleeping Happy, and Natsu. The walk through the village for a while when suddenly the hear something.

Everyone turns their heads toward the sound simultaneously. When listing more closely they find out the sound is actually a woman's laughter. "Who is there?'' Erza shouts. The laughing stops. "HoW HurTfuL ThAt yOu DoN't eVen rEmEmBer mE aNymOrE ERzA ScArletT.'' The female voice says in a crooked way. Natsu lets out a loud sob. "(Y-y/n)?'' He asks. "Oh DeAr, At LeAsT YoU ReMemBer mE NaTSu.'' The voice says. A girl appears around the corner. Lucy gasps. The girl appears to be floating. But not only that, she is also the most beautiful girl Lucy has ever seen. Withe her (H/l) (h/C) floating just like the girl herself. She is wearing a tight grey suite with belts around her everywhere. The suit only goes to high above her knee but the belts keep going. It ends in tall boots. Her (e/c) eyes look scared for some reason. She really is beautiful. ''(y/n) I-I have missed you.'' Natsu says. Tears streaming down his face. "ReAlLy SwEeTy? AwH WhY DoN't YoU CoMe OvEr HeRe AnD gIvE mE a HuG.'' The girl says. ''Natsu?'' Lucy asks. ''This might be her body, but it isn't (y/N).'' Natsu says. ''It's that necklace.'' Erza says. ''I haven't seen it before. It must be cursed.'' Natsu and Gray nod. All of a sudden they're running at the girl and start grabbing at her. ''TrYinG To CoPe A FeEl NoW ArE We.'' The girl says. ''ThAt's NoT VeRy NiCe.'' She raises  her hands. Green ghost hands start appearing all around her. ''I GuEsS I MiGhT As WeLL FeEl YoU GuYs uP ToO.'' She sends the hands flying towards Natsu and Gray at an inhuman speed. But right before they would have hit them they stop. Gray, Natsu and Erza look up at you while you're floating in the air. Lucy had summoned Sagittarius and shot the necklace of your neck. it was now stuck against a building some where. Your eyes look blank. "(y/N)?'' Natsu asks. Your heads rises and you get an expression of surprise on your face. Suddenly tears are streaming down your cheeks. ''Natsu?'' You yell as you descend to the ground and run towards him. He spreads his arms and closes you in a tight hug. ''I can't believe it's really you.'' Natsu says while crying onto your shoulder. "I-I wa-was s-s-so alone.'' You cry into Natsu's shoulder. When you let go to look at him some one else grabs you from behind. "(Y/N)!'' You hear Gray screaming into your ear. ''Gray!'' You yell as a response. ''I'm so glad you're still alive.'' He says. You turn around to hug him as well. When you let go and look around you you see Erza standing a few foot away from you. "ERZA!'' You yell as you run at her and hug her. She doesn't hug back right away. ''I missed you so much.'' You say. Suddenly you hear a sob and Erza wraps her strong arms around you. ''I MISSED YOU TOO (Y/N)!'' She yells as you feel tears running down your neck. You don't think you have ever seen Erza cry before. But she is now, about you. When you let go you do see a tear running down her cheek and smile. Suddenly you notice a blond girl a few foot away. You walk up to her. ''Hey, I don't know who you are but thank you very much for saving me.'' You stick your hand out and smile. She smiles back. "Yeah, of course no problem. I'm Lucy by the way, Lucy heartfilia.'' ''(Y/N) (L/N).'' You say as you shake hands. ''Come on guys, enough catching up we have to get (y/n) here back to the guild to see if that necklace did any damage to her health.'' Erza says as she starts walking towards the train station. You decide to walk, well float, next to Lucy. ''So Lucy tell me something about yourself.'' You say as your groups starts walking, and floating, towards the station. ''Oh sure, well it isn't really complicated really...'' You listen closely while Lucy starts talking about her past. You both have a pleasant conversation for a while when suddenly after a long silence Lucy asks. ''(y/n), have you ever fallen in love with Natsu or gray?'' Your eyes start to look grim. ''No, I can't.'' You answer. ''Why?'' Lucy asks with a confused look on her face. ''It's simple, really, I just can't love one of them. If I try to open my heart for one of them. I will just fall for them both."
