Finally, a couple days later John woke up. I immediately rushed to the hospital as soon as I heard the news. Texting him the whole time, asking him if he was okay. Asking again. Again. I finally get there and walk into the room. Looking at his face and loving him as much as I could. I craw up onto the bed and snuggle him. " Im sorry, Im sorry " I say. John looks at me in question.
" Why are you sorry? " He asks.
" Its my fault that you got into that crash " I say, slightly tearing up.
" No its not, babe "
I put my head down in sadness. " It is... I was the one who invited you... "
He shakes his head. " Lets just drop it... "
I nod. I look back and his Dad comes in from eating some lunch, newspaper in hand. I say hello, and he nods back.
The next week he's out of the hospital and back in school. Luckily, school just started again from summer, so he got better just in time. He has to use crutches and his arm is in a half cast thing, his arm wasn't as damaged. He got tons of attention. Mostly from girls, which made me jealous. Not of the fact that he was getting so much attention, or that he was constantly surrounded by girls, but by the fact that I didn't want ONE GIRL taking him from me. I shake my head every time I see them around him. Every class seemed like it was dragging on, instead of 45 minutes each they seemed like 3 hours. I just wanted to get out of school now.
At lunch, a girl was stroking his arm, whispering things in his ear. I grab my lunch, rush over to the table, and slam the tray down. " MOVE. " I yell at the girl. She looks at me and rolls her eyes, getting up and moving back to her friends. I was done with it. I was done with all these girls all over MY BOYFRIEND. John looks up at me in confusion.
" Why?" He asks.
" Because I don't want anyone stealing you away from me. " I say, straight face.
He giggles, " No one is going to. Trust me, I love you."
" Well I love you too... " I slowly eat the rest of my food, silently.
