Calum - Song Imagine 'Cocoon' by Catfish And The Bottlemen

Start from the beginning

"And what if I win?" You ask, biting your lip nervously.

"If you win then I'll take you out on the best date of your life." He grins confidently.

"Alright." You accept, stretching out your hand. "Shake on it."

He grabs your hand, shaking it tightly before picking up his glass.

"First one to finish their glass wins." He explains, raising his glass to clink with yours.

You raise yours, smiling as your glass clinks with his, the two of you quickly bringing your glasses to your lips, the liquid burning your throat as it goes down, tears poking at the corners of your eyes. You slam the glass on the counter just as Calum does the same.

"I won!" You shout, pointing excitedly at yourself.

"No, I won!" He argues.

"No!"

He asks the bartender, who was watching the two of you with an amused grin, who won.

"It was a tie." He shrugs.

"Go again?" You ask with an eager expression.

Calum nods, waving the bartender over to refill your drinks.

"Here, you can at least give me your number since it was a tie." You shrug, sliding your phone across the marble top towards him. He quickly punches in his number, handing you his phone for you to do the same.

"Alright, here you two go." The bartender, whose name tag says 'Chuck', states, sliding the two of you your glasses.

You clink your glasses again, lifting it to your lips when someone grabs your arm and pulls you backwards, spilling your drink all over the front of your dress.

"Y/N! What on earth are you doing?!" You friend shouts, giving Calum a once over before pulling you away.

"Drinking with a guy?" You explain, the simple sentence coming out as a question.

"You don't want to get involved with Calum Hood. He's bad news. Just take my advice and stay away from him, okay?" She explains, watching as you quickly shoot a glance Calum's way offering him an apologetic smile; she grabs your wrist and drags you out of the club.

"What do you think you're doing?!" You scream, ripping your wrist from your friend's grip.

"I told you! I'm protecting you! He's just a partier, and he's bad news!"

"You're not my mother! You don't get to tell me who I can and can't associate with! It's just a drink!"

She throws her hands up in the air in frustration before placing them on her hips. "I don't want to see you fall into his trap like all of his other play toys."

You shake your head. "You know what? Don't worry about me. I'll just take a cab home. Don't wait up." You fume, storming back into the club, taking Calum's drink right out of his hand and drinking all of it in one swig before slamming the glass back on the counter.

"Everything okay?" He asks, his brown eyes watching you carefully as you grab his hand in yours and squeeze tightly.

"Do you want to get out of here?"

"W-what?" He stammers.

"You know, maybe go to a burger joint and get to know each other better? Just anywhere but here."

A small smile forms on his lips as he throws a ten dollar bill on the counter top to cover his drink, shrugging his leather jacket on his broad shoulders, squeezing your small hand in his large one as he leads you to his car.
