I woke up with my hair all over the place and wrapped in someone's arms

I turned over to face a slob faced August snoring causing me to giggle

His gripped tightend as his eyes started to open

"Hayy ugly, I mean Auggie" I giggled getting up

"Ha ha hell, keep fucking wit' me" he yelled as I entered the bathroom

I started the shower and waited till it got steamy hot to jump in

I hopped in and let the steamy hot water run through my hair

I was scared shitless when I opened my eyes to see August

"What the fuck are you doing?" I practically screamed

"I'm taking a shower with my baby duh'" he said in a 'duh' tone

"August" I said sternly

"Essence" he said using the same tone

"If you're gonna be in here with me cover your eyes" I told him

"Fuck that, its mines anyway fuck you mean" he groaned

"Aug, we cool but we aint that cool so imma let you bath first." I stepped out with my things and headed to the other bathroom.

I heard groaning on the other side of the door and instantly knew what he was doing.

"August get out the damn shower, with ya nasty ass." I said beating on the door.

"Bitch disgusting" I said mocking the girl from the video as he came out of the shower

"You love it, now gon in there and play witcha self, I know you do it" he said smirking

"Unlike yo nasty ass, i actually have class and respect for myself so you can gladly get your lightbright ass out" I told him

After an whole ten minutes of arguing with Aug I finally washed up and got out the shower

"Where we going today?" I asked getting my keys

"To hell if we don't pray" he responded

"Stupid ass" I rolled my eyes

"Hope them bitches get stuck" I heard him say

"So you ready for graduation next week?" I asked

I was so excited, I've been passing my classes and plus my mom will be able to make it

"I guess" he said

I still got in the car because I know Aug, boney bitch will leave me in a second.

I got a phone call from Jamel, so I answered, but I wasn't expecting to hear that

"Get to the hospital now...its momma" he sniffed

I told Aug to drive to the hospital as fast as he could, he looked like he wanted to ask but avoided

We arrived at the hospital, I didn't bother to get a vistor pass I headed straight towards the elevator, holding the door open for Aug

We finally landed on floor, and I damn neared ran to her room door

When I got there my eyes started to water of how weak see looked. I knew what was going to happen next. I'm sure we all knew.

"What did they say Melly?" I asked him avoiding everyone else

"She hasn't been taking her medicine for a week and now they can't save her" he cried

I went to her bedside and started to examine her body

"Why ma?" I asked

"I'm tired Essie, its time for me to go home, thank you for visiting me almost everyday, but baby I can't suffer like this" she coughed. She wanted this but I didn't, I could only respect it.

"I love each and one you, I might not be here physically but I'm here spiritually" she coughed again but harder this time

"I want all of to be happy, get married, have me some grand babies" she said slightly laughing

"Bye my children" she said as her monitor flat lined

My then and there my heart was ripped away from me

I promised my self I wouldn't cry or get angry but dammit it hurts so bad

To be so attached to someone and watched them being ripped away from you

It happened all my life, my father was taken away, my brothers were taken, and now my mom is being taken

"Its okay Es, I feel your pain" I heard Marisol say

But she doesn't

"No you don't, you weren't there, I was here while you were prancing around, while you were sitting high on your 'throne' thinking your shit didn't stink, we were here taking fucking care of her" I yelled

I didn't mean it but I was angry, so angry that I needed to let it out

"I'm outta here" I pushed past through everyone

"Essence bring your ass back here" I heard August yell but I kept walking until I got into the elevator but he caught it before it closed

He trapped me with his arms, obviously angry with me

I didn't care though, I was angry too, angry at the world

"What that is your problem" he said with gritted teeth

I didn't answer him so I saw him press the emergency stop button stopping us

"I asked you a question Melrose" he said grabbing me by my neck

"My mom just fucking died August, in front of my own eyes, the lady who gave birth to me and you have the nerve to ask what's wrong? You fucking figure it out."

The tears sprang free from my eyes as I saw his face softened

"She's gone Aug, she's not coming back" I cried into his chest
