You would have thought as the captain, he is some brainless idiot who only cares for his looks and how many girls he has had in bed.
But he is different.
When he saw I was walking towards him, he flashed me a toothless smile and patted the seat next to him. One thing I love about Allan, he always know how to take a smile out of my face. It doesn't matter if I am on my good days or bad days, on the best mood or the worst, he does it without even trying.
I looked up at the board where Mrs Gomez was drawing a really bad draw about a plant and explaining some details of it. Many students were taking notes, others were staring out at space and well, I was listening but after she said 'the plants do their photosynthesis blah, blah, blah' I loose it. The rest was just a blur.
ring
Finally, after some minutes of waiting the damn bell rang and everybody collected their belongings as fast as they could running of the classroom and vanishing like they were never here. I quickly put the books on my backpack and standing up ready to go out but Mrs Gomez stopped me calling out my name. What can possibly this woman wants?
I motioned Allan to wait me out of the classroom and he nodded his head slowly throwing his backpack over his shoulders. I walked toward Mrs Gomez that is already sitting on her desk with that folder of hers that in whatever minute I am going to throw on the floor.
"yes?" I asked politely. what? even though I don't like her I don't have to show my hate towards her.
"sit down" she ordered me pointing at the first desk in front of hers. I sighed.
"well I have noticed your change of attitude and your low grades, what is happening? You used to be a girl with so much potential and now it's like it doesn't matter anymore" she asked me, putting a stand of her black straight hair behind her ear and crossing her fingers together with one another.
Okay, let me get this straight. My biology teacher, Mrs Gomez, the teacher that dislikes me since the beginning of this semester, is asking me if everything's good with me.
I am good, but I don't know what bug bit her.
"I understand you want to make sure how your students are doing outside the school, but it would be fine if you don't ask me that type of questions. It's my life, my personal stuff. And if I want to share that, it's my decision but right now I want it to be only my problems" I tried to make my voice sound as calm as I could ever sound because it really bugs me when people put their nose in things that do not concern them.
She looked taken back for a second, not really expecting my answer but recovers her posture almost immediately. "Okay, I would not ask again. It's your personal stuff and I respect that but I need you to study more if you want to pass this class. Otherwise, your opportunities of graduating are really low" it was the last thing she said before standing up and walking out of the classroom with her things on both of her hands.
She left me there, on that empty classroom, speechless.
Your opportunities of graduating are really low.
I am screwed, there's no doubt.
After some minutes of analyzing closely her words and scared the heck out of me, I got up from the chair and hung the backpack over just one shoulder heading out of the classroom.
