A/N: Hi. I'm writing this on my tablet. So sorry for any mistakes. (I can't spell ethier so that doesn't help.) I started this story a while ago and decided to publish it here. I hope you like it! (the pic on this chapter is Alex) I really appreciate the feedback. Don't know how often i'll update, but I hope you like it!

If I said I hated sleep that would only be half a lie. Truthfully, I love sleep. Couldn't live without it (literally), but I also love staying up all night. Which brings me to the next part of my story, I am a Vampire. Now I know what your going to say "Vampire aren't real" "they only exist in stories". yeah, well we don't! we've been around for centuries among Humans; you've just never seen us. Not all Vampires drink Human blood, at least not from the vain. we usually prefer wild Animals. (Wolves, cougars, foxes, etc. you get the picture.) I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you my name, I'm Charl, Charl St. Rain, newly turned Vampire of New York, New York.

Believe me only a few months ago, I would have said the same things, but that's when I met Alex............

*flashback*

I was sitting in the common room, when Alex came in.

"Charl, we need to go on a hunting trip"

"Why? don't we have enough blood?"

"Guess not. Dom says we need more" he said while putting things into a backpack.

"Ok. Who else is coming?"

"No one. It's just us"

"Ok" I went to my room to pack.

The hunting party

The hunting party. Dominic sent Alex and I on a hunting trip. Normally I wouldn't mind time alone with Alex but we never hunted in pairs before. Always in groups. It just seemed...........off.

^Somewhere in the mountains^

Alex was a few feet farther up the trail than I was. (I didn't like hiking in my past life, and I liked it even less in this one.)

"Come on Charl! the cabins only a few more miles up" he shouted down to me.

"Remind me, why do we have a cabin in the middle of nowhere?" I said gasping for breath. (I may be undead, but old habits die hard.)

"Because we don't want the mundanes to see us, do we?" Alex said jokingly.

"Ya. Whatever" I grunted back. He laughed at that, (he has a pretty laugh. It sounded like pure, innocent, childlike, happiness. Before reality crushes your soul.) and pretty soon I was laughing too. (It's hard not too.)

"Come on" he said, offering me his hand. It's only a little way now"

"Ok" I said, taking his hand.
