Chapter 1:

"I need more sleep," I complained to my alarm clock before hitting the snooze button. Yes, I am so tired that i have resorted to talking to technology, because maybe IT will listen to me. Not only will this job takeover the only time I have left for friends and a social life that's not dedicated to school and sports, but it will also affect my grades. Although, maybe a few F's on report card will make my mom see that I don't need a job... "No Alli that's bad." I mumbled to myself while forcing myself out of my warm bed.

Glancing at my alarm clock I saw the time "5:15, what kind of job makes me get up at 5 freaking 15!?", I mumbled while going through my closet looking for some casual clothes. Being that school just ended mornings were still chilly, so I decided on denim jeans that I can easily roll up, and a loose fitting tee-shirt with my favorite worn softball sweatshirt that my mom got me at a tournament. Going into the bathroom, I took a quick shower, dressed myself, and started fixing my hair and make up. After putting my hair into a loose wet ponytail I put on some mascara and trudged back into my room.

I picked up my iPhone and plugged my earphones into my ears, slowly relaxing to Taylor Swift's song Long Live. Who doesn't love a Taylor Swift song when your in a bad mood. Taking a deep breath I walked downstairs into the kitchen, waiting for my mom to tell me what type of job she had gotten for me. I started to flip through the messages on my phone looking at all of the invitations to get together's and parties I was going to have to turn down this week when I realized i was being yelled at.

"ALLISON! Are you even listenening to me?" My mom asked with a very annoyed look on her face.

"Um, totally?" I lied, obviously.

"You should really turn that music down, or else you are going to go deaf. Anyway, I was just saying that you probably needed directions to your job." She said knowingly.

"Yeah I do, and by the way, what is my job?" I asked skeptically, not wanting to know the answer.

"Oh, yes, you are going to be working at the zoo. Your going to feed the marine animals." I gasped slightly at the news.

"The what!?"I screamed, "As in SHARKS!?" I asked, practically fearing for my life.

"Well, I guess so if they have sharks." She said with an attitude like she couldn't care less.

"Mom! I'm deathly afraid of sharks! How could you!? You know that I can barely get into the ocean without fearing for my life!" I was practically fainting at this point.

With that my sister walked into the room laughing her butt off. "I hope you have fun Alli, ya know feeding the sharks. Hopefully you won't fall into the water or anything." She said still laughing.

"Shut up James." I said practically on the verge of tears. She hated being called James because she claimed it was a "guy name" but picking on me while I'm about to have a heart attack is so uncalled for that she deserved it.

As my sister was about to say something back, which was probably going to be a something to make me even more scared about my job, my mom stepped in, "Girls, stop. Allison you should probably go now if you don't want to be late. You have to be their early so your boss can train you for your job."

"Whatever," I mumbled.

"Oh, and I heard that he's cute!" My mom said as if it was the most important piece of info in the world . Ignoring her I walked out the door, got into my car, and drove as fast as possible to the zoo so I could get this day over with. Even if this dude had a six pack like Taylor Lautner, it still wouldn't hide the fact that I was going to die today, and if I don't die from being eaten by sharks, I'll die from the horrible smell of fish that will come from this stupid job.

Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. When I pulled into the parking lot my heart started beating like a stampede of wild horses. I was about to come face to face with the hottest guy I had ever seen. Maybe this job won't be bad after all...
