(A/N WHAT?! Twenty chapters already?! P.S. Dedicated to you E 😂)
I looked at Ranessa with wide eyes, "What do you mean?"
"Well, remember that Jeremiah has to take over the family name? Well, he was trained ever since he was six. By gramps." Ranessa explained as she gestured me to get ready for training. "And how many training sessions have you had?"
I stared at her blankly. "Exactly," Ranessa huffed aloud.
"Isn't that kind of rude though?"
Ranessa scoffed at what I was intending, "No, in the world of Fae, mostly all the women are equal. That's why women are sent out on missions and as well as men. Enchantments run the house to stop people from trespassing. But our house is different."
"So can you teach me how to do a match?"
Ranessa answered, "Sure, during training, because Fae matches are different than regular matches. But I don't know what you can do with that twig of a body."
I nod and looked at the clock on my wall. "We'd better get going." My body tingles with excitement and I can feel my pulse skyrocketing.
For once, I'm not scared, but I'm excited.
"So. What are the rules?" I ask, unable to hold my smile.
Ranessa quirks a pierced eyebrow and says, "I'll tell you when we get there."
I was about to ask 'Where?', but I can tell from her impatient face she'll snap at me. I snapped my mouth shut and followed her through the no longer same corridors. It's so much more easier to navigate.
"That's because the house pulls at your brain to know where you want to go and you instinctively go there." Whoops, I said that out loud.
My eyes widen, "That is so awesome." As we make another turn and stopped in my tracks. "Oh, wait. I forgot to make slits in this shirt, I'll be right back."
Ranessa nodded and said, "Meet me in the backyard after you're done."
I think about my room in my head and I instantly knew what turns to take. I drag fingers along the wall thanking the house. I feel the warmth of this house spread from the tips of my fingers to my whole body.
I walk into my room, close the door and take my shirt off to tear wholes in it. I take a closer look at my hands their shaking uncontrollably with excitement. I smile because I am going to get him back. Karma really is a bitch.
"And so are you."
Hearing those words behind me, I turn around not caring that I'm half naked because growing up with siblings and Cole, to be exact, doesn't really get you that much privacy.
Unsurprisingly, Jeremiah's eyes widen with surprise for a second and then he masks it with a shrugs as he keeps his eyes on the clock behind me. I throw on my shirt and I glare it him but I can't helps the blush that creeps to my cheeks. It's different being in front of Jeremiah he makes me feel jumpy and relaxed at the same time? Back to reality Alice, he basically just called you a bitch.
I grit my teeth, "Get out now Jeremiah, I have to get back to Ranessa for training."
He starts wandering around and tinkering with my things, "Oh, back to that name now are we?" He says with his back turned, I narrow my eyes at him. I don't need the wave of sarcasm telling me that he's still not over the fight we had earlier.
I clear my throat, "And what happened to your training may I ask?" I quirked my brow as he threw himself onto the couch.
He froze, "I had things to take care of."
I mumbled, "Not like I care." But I can't help for my interest had piqued. "Jeremiah get out."
"Don't feel like it."
I eyed him as he put his feet up and laid relaxingly on the couch, closing his eyes. "Fine," I muttered, "I have somewhere to be."
He peeped one eye open, "There's a first."
"Ouch." I say sarcastically, but, of course that was after I rolled my eyes.
Instead of slamming the door shut, I close it gently, considering this house actually has feelings. Never expected to say that without dying of laughter.
On the way to the back I put my hair in a ponytail.
I hate him, I hate him with all of my guts. I don't want to be his Other. It's like he doesn't even feel my pain even though we no each other's feelings 'Instinctively'.
Knowing that this session is going to be serious, I wrap the hair tie once around more to keep it up tightly. I sighed aloud, hoping that this was going to be a hard work out because I really need to start getting abs.
And trust me, knowing that there are Oreos and blueberry muffins are out there in the world doesn't really help as a contribution.
I make my out back through the back porch door. "Okay, let's get this over with."
