I Forgot Your Name. Can I Just Call You Mine?

~Ashton~

Today was the day he was arriving. I dreaded it. I laid in my bed for as long as I possibly could, before mom called up and said to get ready, as they'd be here in two hours. I sighed to myself and got up and went to the bathroom. My house only had one bathroom, two floors, and three bedrooms. Since Jesse was moving in, I had to move into Sophia's room. Another reason to hate his arrival.

I took a long shower, enjoying the warm water running down my back. I got dressed just as slowly in a light pink short summer dress, with dark pink flowers. It ended mid thigh. I slipped on white plaid converse boots and put on a pair of gold ear rings. It wasn't really my style, buy mom wanted me to look my best for this day. I curled my long brown hair, that ended in the middle of my back. I loved my hair. I got the color from my dad, my mom had blonde hair. I got the blue eyes from her. Not to sound cocky or anything, but I thought I was very pretty. I wasn't the prettiest here in Tennessee, but I was still pretty.

I really hoped this Jesse guy didn't hit on me. I don't think I could handle that. I sighed, and walked downstairs to the kitchen, where mom was cooking a nice breakfast, which consister of omlets, cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and waffles. I laughed at her.

"Mom," I laughed out. "Don't you think you went a little overboard?"

She turned to me, wiping her hands on her apron. "Oh, I didn't know what he'd like! So I made a little bit of-"

"Everything?" I filled in.

She nodded, then turned back to the frying pan. "Honey, go set the table, then go back to your room. I'll call you down when he's here."

I nodded to her, then grabbed napkins and silverwear and set them out, setting five places. One for me, mom, dad, Sophia, and Jesse. It's going to be weird having a new guy around here. Something I guess i'll have to get used to.

I sighed again, and went back to my room. I took my iPod and plugged it into my stereo and put on the song 'Don't You Want Me?' the one sung on Glee, by Darren Criss and Lea Michele. I began singing aloud and jumping and dancing around my room, twirling.

"Don't, don't you want me? You know I can't believe it when you say that you won't see me! Don't, don't you want me?"

I was so engrossed in singing, that I didn't notice someone come into my room and lean against my door frame, arms crossed.

"I know I want you." he said.

EARLIER

Ugh, the ride on the plane here was gruesome. The flight attendants kept flirting with me and wouldn't leave me alone. I'm so glad that was over. I handed the taxi guy the money I owed, and jumped out and looked up at my new 'home'. It was a small looking house, two floors. From the outside, I can tell it has three bedrooms. Not really my style. I can tell I'll already hate it here.

From what I've learned, Ashton is around my age. So maybe she'll be pretty. Maybe she'll like me. I was pretty attractive. I had shaggy brown hair and dark green eyes. I always dressed in my usual get up, which was my leather jacket, a white t-shirt, and black jeans. Which was what I was wearing now.

I go up to the door, and pause, then knock. It opens almost immediately, with a middle-aged woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. She's kinda pretty.

"Oh! You must be Jesse! I'm Linda, Linda Leigh. Haha. Come on in!" she put a hand on my back and pushed me in.

"Uh, yeah. Hi." I said.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I'm talking too much! Why don't I just call my daughters down here?" she opens her mouth to call them but I stop her.

"No, that's okay. I should just go look around. I'll see them later."

She smiles at me and hurries back into what I'm assuming is the kitchen. I groan at her attidude. Yep, I'll definetely  hate it here.

I sighed to myself and walked up the stairs. As I go down the hall, I see four doors. I'm assuming one is the bathroom. One door is all pink, I guess it belongs to the little girl, Sophia. The other doors were all white. I figured one had to be mine. I opened the first one, which turned out to be the bathroom.

I opened another one and that one had a double bed, which I'm assuming is the parents' bedroom. I opened the last one, and stayed quiet at what I saw. The most beautiful girl I've ever seen-corny, I know- was dancing and twirling around to the song, 'Don't You Want Me?' sung by the Glee cast. Yes, okay, I admit, I watch Glee. Got a problem with it? The girl turns while dancing and stops as she sees me.

"I know I want you." I said. I was surprised that my voice didn't come out casually or that I didn't smirk. I just had a serious expression on my face and I said it in a serious tone.

She gaped at me, looking me up and down, obviously taking in my appearance. She finally cleared her throat. "Uh, this is, uh, your room." she stuttered, looking down as a blush crept up her cheeks. "I'll just be heading to where I'm sleeping." she continued.

She began to walk out the door but I grabbed her forearm and she whipped her head around to face me. "What's your name?" I pleaded. I was surprised again.

"Oh. Ashton. Ashton Leigh." she said.

I gaped at her. So this was the girl I swore I'd dislike based on my stereotyping.

I watched as he gaped at me. What was so surprising? Maybe his parents didn't tell him my name?

"Did your parents not tell you my name?" I asked him.

He pulled out of his dream world and shook his head at me. "No, they did. It's just... you don't seem like a southern girl."

I laughed at him. "Please, I hate this dress. I guess I'm your actual stereotypical southerner."

He let go of my arm and set his stuff down on the bed, turning to me. "And am I your stereotypical city guy?" he asked.

I shook my head. "You're also a typical badboy." I said, then walked out and into Sophia's room. She was drawing in her notebook. She looked up when I opened and closed the door.

"Hey Ash!" she greeted cheerily. I beamed at her and ruffled her pretty blonde hair. She looks just like mom, only smaller and younger.

"Hey." I said.

"Is the guy here?" she asked.

I nodded. "I can't wait to meet him!"

I laughed and just shook my head.
