Their hearts skipped a beat simultaneously as they saw each other up close.

Light freckles adorned her nose and cheekbones, which he couldn't help but find adorable.

His muscles flexed slightly as he moved, and she couldn't help but find that incredibly attractive.

In fact, she found it so alluring that she stared at his body, marveling over every toned muscle.

"Like what you see?" he teased as she goggled over him.

She giggled and said, "Sure do, hot stuff."

*~*~*

And that's how it started.

Somewhere along the road they hit a bump, and laid it off.

Yet now they each have a hole in their hearts that can only be filled with the other.

She shuffles her weight from foot to foot, not wanting to leave just yet, but wondering if she should finally just give up on him. Wondering if it's worth it to sit outside this bakery like she had every day for the past two years and come up blank.

It would be such an effortless task, just stop going to that one spot every day and move on.

So simple. So easy.

But at the same time it's the hardest thing in the world

I mean, how do you give up on the thing you're sure you love undeniably?

Here's the answer to that question: You don't.

At exactly 7:30 she peels herself off of the brick wall and starts on her walk home. But instead of wallowing in the dissatisfaction of her life now, she travels back in time to remember the good days; the days with him.

*~*~*

"Stop!" she scream in laughter.

"And why should I?" he teases, continuing to tickle her.

"Because you love me!" she yells, looking into those blue eyes of his as he stops.

"Oh really?" he questions, "And what makes you think that?"

She thinks for a minute before answering, "The way you look at me, the way you protect me, the way you get jealous when any other guy comes near, and the way you can't seem to get enough of my kisses. I could go on and on."

"Well you're right." He smiles, "I do love you."

"I love you too," she says, "But tell me how you know."

He doesn't hesitate to tell her, "The way you look at me, the way you cuddle with me, the way you always give me sweet, simple kisses all over my face..." As he says this she presses her lips to his cheeks, his eyes, his nose, and finally, his lips. "And because you tell me you love me with the most entrancing look in your eyes. I could go on and on."

He finishes and she tells him, "I love you."

The look he just described appears and he grins before repeating it and gently kissing her neck.

The calm atmosphere doesn't last long because soon his hands are roaming her stomach and hips again and she freezes.

"Don't you dare."

"Oh, I dare," he whispers in her ear as he tickles her squirming body again.

*~*~*

A small smile finds its way to her lips as she takes a moment to appreciate every wonderful memory he had given her.

But for her the memories or simply not enough, no matter how picture-perfect they all are. She wants the whole package; she wants him.

She gives one last look around as she turns in the direction of her home, dragging her feet as she walks, for she could not find the man she loved in the crazy world around her.

She thought she had looked everywhere, but he was right under her nose the entire time.

Only two minutes behind her.
