Elena's pov:

We're all three in Stefan's car on the way back home. I sat in the back seat and Caroline was telling me about Bonnie and her life then I noticed a ring on her finger "hold on, what is this?" I said smirking "what" she didn't notice what I was talking about till she followed my sight to what's shining on her finger she smiled then I said smirking "I think you forget to mention this Mrs Salvatore" Stefan laughed and Caroline said "well you'd have a lot of reading to do when we're home then you'd know every detail" that made me smile, they wrote it all down. I know what you're all asking why the hell haven't I asked about Damon? Well I am dying to know where he is and it was awful not to see him first thing when I woke up. I couldn't help it anymore, I spoke up "hey Stefan, I was waiting since I woke up for him to pop out or something but he didn't so where is your brother?" he seemed hesitant to answer and that made me worried "what happened Stefan, he's okay, isn't he?" "no no Elena, don't worry, he's ok, but he doesn't live with us back at home anyomore, he said he wants to build a life to himself, he calls from time to time and sometimes he visits but we don't know his whereabouts, but before he left, he left me this letter and made me promise that I'd never open it and I'd give it to you when you wake up" he took it out of his pocket and gave it to me and I wasted no time in opening it.

Dear Elena,
I know, Me Damon Salvatore writing a letter, Shocker!!
If you're reading this letter then you must be awake now wondering where the hell am I and why am I not there with you. When you read the journals everyone wrote you'd know the problems we've all been through getting our home back but when it's finally all solved and everyone's life started working out, I realized that my life will never really work out until you come back to me. I was tired of waiting, just standing there waiting for time to pass so I decided to leave. I decided to go somewhere where I'd really build a life for the both of us and I'll do this waiting for the day you'd come and make it complete, make me complete.
I miss you Elena, can't wait to see you again,
