Stefan's pov :

Three hours earlier, Caroline got a call from Jason - Jeremy's and Bonnie's son - informing us that Bonnie 's passed away. It's not much of a shock, she was 79 years old and she was on death bed for a long while almost a year waiting for the final moment, but it's not bad because till the very end she was in company of her family. Jeremy, her husband and partner for over 50 years. Jason, her son and his wife and children. She got to have the perfect human life. Although her death was expected, it didn't make it any easier for her family to say goodbye.
With every Goodbye comes a Hello.
Right now I am in Newyork with my beautiful wife Caroline beside me waiting for the arrival of that special moment we've all been waiting for since 60 years ago. Elena. Right now we're standing in front of her coffin waiting for her to wake up.

I know what you're all asking right now. Where the hell is Damon? Well after finally getting our home back, he stayed with us making sure we all got to live peaceful lives in home then.he left 10 years ago saying it's his turn to build his own life. He calls from time to time and sometimes he comes for visits but we don't know exactly where he is. Before he left, he left me a letter for Elena and he made me promise that I'd never open it and I'd give it to Elena when she wakes up.

I was lost in thoughts reminiscing my brother's departure and thinking that in a few moments he 'd get the life he'd always wanted back. I was brought back to the present when heard Caroline squealing and crying leaving my hand "omg omg omg you're really here. You're really back. I missed you so much" she was hugging the life out of Elena. I stood there paralysed and I didn't move till I heard her voice "Stefan".
