The Beyonce song blasted through my apartment, I decided to let Mason hang with Michael while me and Sean were at prom so Michael can work on his relationship with his son. prom starts at 9 its 7:50 and I just started getting ready.
"Riley you look great calm down ,king is gonna freak when he sees you." I said admiring riley's outfit. She was wearing a teal bedazeled short dress for prom and it looked amazing on her. Me on The over hand?( me in media) not your average prom dress. But I don't want to be like everybody else.
As the song changed from starting over by Beyonce to oui by Jeremiah, and I applyed makeup to my face. After my a makeup was done I look back I looked at the wall clock 8:17 to kill time I decided to call Michael so I can talk to my son. "Ayo Riley can you turn that down a bit?" I said walking into my living room. Then he answered.
" hello?" Masons little voice rang through my phone. "Hey Baby how you doing?" I said instantly getting excited. "mommy, daddy said that I'm not a baby". he said "give the phone back to Daddy." I sent putting my hand on my hip even though he couldn't see it."hey baby mama" he said with Joy in his voice. I could tell by how he sounded that he was smiling from ear to ear. "don't tell my baby he not a baby." I said trying not to laugh "this nigga is a grown ass man, what you mean don't say he not a baby, damn, what the fuck you be feeding him" he said "now I don't mind you cussing, but I don't want Mason to say nigga that's not how I want to raise him." I said, "I respect that you don't want him talking down on his people, I try my best not the same as much" he said but I don't really believe him. Okay let me finish getting ready Sean is going to be here in about 15 to 20 minutes I said pausing to read the clock. " have fun I love you" he said. "okay I'll talk to you later" I said before hanging up I don't love that nIGGA sshit I barely even like him. as I walk back to the bathroom I stop by my dresser to plug my phone up, when I walked back to the bathroom I grab my dress that was hanging from the shower rod and sliped it on. "King said him and Sean are on their way" Riley yelled from the living room. I quickly took off my satin cap and took a few pictures. We waited for about 15 minutes until we heard those two fools making a beat on my front door.
" can you chill we got white people in this neighborhood." I said as I open the door I ran to the bathroom but suddenly triped on a toy truck. Calling everybody who witnessed to laugh. "Shut the fuk up." I said brushing myself off and continuing to walk to the bathroom I slipped both shoes on and took one last Glimpse in the mirror. I bit my lip and I saw how I looked.
" relax you look great." Sean said to me as he slowly wrapped his arms around my waist planting a small kiss on my forehead
" thanks" I said stepping back so I can see his tux. I told him my dress was gold but I didn't tell him it wasn't a typical prom dress. But by the looks of it he didn't care. "Where's my corsage?" I said folding my arms trying not to smile but failed.
" I got you baby it's in the car" he said grabbing my hand leading me out of the bathroom and then out of the bedroom. Apparently King and Riley couldn't wait till after prom to commit to their make-out session. " hey! Not on my couch " I said smacking King in the back of the head causing Riley to laugh.

As me and Nichelle in hand in hand. I started to feel lucky originally I was going to go with Courtney one of the most popular girls at the school but she probably would have ruined the whole night for me. but nel was different she wasn't like any of the other girls to school and not because she has a son but because she's not trying to impress anybody. " wow they did a pretty good job" she said looking around. The school wasn't very high on supplies so the dance didn't even have a theme yeah they put up some lights ,buff the floor and put up some decorations but it wasn't themed. but we don't really care, this was the one thing our school actually did for us. And I'm glad I'm able to spend it with one of the most beautiful things in this world.
Nichelle P.O.V
Even though it wasn't much, I'm glad I came. "You ready?" I said already making my Way in, dragging Sean with me. He walks with me for a couple of seconds and then stopped making me stumble back. "W-w wait. Just listen." He said looking up into the sky. I did the same and then I heard arguing. " what's wrong it's just a little argument." I said still trying to get him to come inside. "Noo hold up this ain't no quiet neighborhood they didn't even check us when we walked in." Sean said thinking out loud. " okay so what is that supposed to mean?" I said slightly getting worried. And then 'bang" " bang" "bang." three gunshots and a whole lot of Screams. I took off to his car, waiting on him to realize that I left. My dad used to be a drug dealer so I know when it's time to run. He quickly unlocked and started the car."wait!" I yelled jumping out the car for a quick second I looked around to try to see if I can find king and Riley luckily they had the same reaction as we did.
