Hello There Lucy (Part 3 of 3)

Inikot niya ang kanyang paningin na para bang naawa sa akin. Ano bang gustong sabihin ng taong to sa "only to see you like this?"

"I guess your date didn't show up. "

He said in his Australian accent. Ngayon ko lang napansin na foreigner pala ang isang to na mukhang may lahing Filipino rin. Kaya pala noong kausap ko siya parang may slang yung pagsasalita niya. Bakit di ko ba agad napansin?

"I don't owe you anything. I already said thank you."

Inis kong sabi sa kanya. Tumayo ako at tinalikuran siya. Aba, akala niya yata di ko siya kayang kausapin in straight English.

"Hey, don't leave me. Look, I know you are broken hearted and perhaps a cup of coffee would help?"

Narinig kong sabi niya. Pero hindi ko siya pinansin. Mas lalo akong nagmadaling naglakad at di-nial ang phone ni Maggie. I don't care kung international call to.  I just need to speak with my bestfriend.

"Best?"

Rinig kong sabi ni Maggie na parang kinikiliti sa kabilang linya. Narinig ko rin ang boses ni David na pinapagalitan si Maggie dahil ayaw pa raw magpahinga. Tapos nagtawanan na naman sila.

"Sorry. Naabala ko yata kayo."

"Oppa, this is best. Give us 10 minutes please?"

Sabi ni Maggie kay David. I heard David said okay and since it's me raw, he is giving Maggie an hour to talk to me and he is willing to wait. Napakaunderstanding talagang asawa nitong si David.

"Kasi best there's this weirdo guy who...."

...Is stalking me. The same guy at the grocery... Yun sana ang sasabihin ko pero di ko na nasabi pa dahil nakuha na ng lalaki kanina yung phone ko. Hinila niya ang kamay ko at pilit akong sinama papuntang elevator.

"I thought I made it clear that I don't owe you anything! Why do you keep on bothering me."

"Because.."

Tinitigan niya ako na parang nangungulila. Na parang helpless.

" I want you so badly."

Hinawakan niya ang magkabila kong pisngi at bigla akong hinalikan. Nagpumilit akong pumalag pero naramdaman ko na lang ang mga kamay ko na yumakap na rin sa kanya at gumanti ng halik. I didn't know that this is how it feels. My first kiss, in an elevator, with a stranger. And here I am embracing him.

Until I felt him moving away from me. He looked at me with his pleading eyes.

Anong nangyari? Anong mali? Di ba tama ang ginawa ko?

Teka, why do I even have thoughts like these? Common Lucy.

"Im sorry. Im really sorry. I know you are married but I still kissed you. I'm sorry. I am just so attracted to you. Im sorry. Im so sorry."

He pressed the button of the nearest floor and left me in awe.

Im sorry?

Yeah. Sorry to myself. Sorry to God too. Kissing a random stranger is not in my vocabulary or in my bucket list. And I don't think God will be sending me someone like him. Who I guess had a hot night with a hot friend and went on kissing me, a stranger,  in an elevator!

Maggie. Yes. I need Maggie. I need to tell her everything. But how?

Kinapa ko ang phone ko at naalala kong nasa stranger nga pala yung phone ko. Nasa kanya! Bakit ang phone ko na naman. Nagpalit nga ako ng unit kasi nasira yung isa kong phone tapos...

Who is this guy? Who?
