chapter 4: what do we do now?

“Ok let’s not mention that part to hotch, He went through enough at the hands of Foyet,” said Morgan

We all agreed and went back to the Police Department. Where Hotch, David and Reid were waiting for us. JJ was in a room with Emma, Kyle and Gracie.

“Alex why didn’t you tell us where you were going?” said David in a disapproving tone

“that doesn’t matter , what did you guys find?” asked hotch he was just as keen to get this case finished as I was to make sure the children were kept out of foster care, even though he wanted this case to finish he wouldn’t rest until everything had fallen into place 

We walked to the conference room and JJ soon joined us after asking someone to stay with Jenkins.

“ the crime scene looked to clean, I mean there was no way a fight couldn’t of taken place there,” Emily said after hotch asked what we had found again

“Although the coffee table and couch had been over turned none of the photo frames had broken,” Morgan continued

“It was too fake. almost as if it had been staged,” I muttered looking out the window of the conference room into the room where Emma and her siblings sat talking with the woman that had relieved JJ.  Emma had been through a lot losing both of her parents within 6 months and now both of her aunts. I will do whatever I can to keep them out of foster care even if it means I have to convince David to adopt them. I would hate it if Josie had to go into the foster care system and Emma is only a couple of months older then Josie maybe less.  I already care about Emma as if she had been in my life for years but I had only known her for a couple of days.

“Agent Hotchner there has been a sighting of Makayla Hourigan, she was leaving a supermarket they security camera’s show her driving away,” a detective burst into the room and put the video footage on the screen it was clearly Makayla Hourigan. 

“I’ll send this to Garcia maybe she could get something off of it, thank you detective,” hotch said as he left the room. Morgan and Emily followed as did Reid and JJ only they went over to the pin board where they kept working on a generic profile of where about the Unsub would be living

I spent most of the afternoon talking to the Jenkins I discovered Emma was a lot like me. She loved reading, especially harry potter. She loved to sing and dance and she cared for her siblings more than anything in the world. She would take a bullet to her brain before she would let anyone hurt them.

Kyle was the most athletic of the three he was on the local soccer team and he t-ball with his school. He hoped that one day he would meet David Beckham his idol. Gracie on the other hand was not very athletic she didn’t like sports one little bit she enjoyed dancing and singing with Emma but her passion was drawing and sowing she wanted to be a fashion designer when she was older. She showed me some of her sketches and they were amazing especially for a 5 year old. And I thought some of Josie’s sketches of trees and other miscellaneous items were good.

“Alex, Garcia found something,” said Emily poking her head through the door.

I followed Emily to where the team was crowded around the laptop and Garcia’s face appeared on the screen, as soon as she saw Emily and me, she started her explanation.

“Well I got the plate numbers of the car Makayla Hourigan drove away in off of the , I then traced them back to the owner of the car,  Gary Redion, it turns out he was the neighbor of the sisters when they were adopted by the Princeton family. But 3 months down the track and Miranda and Kimberly were taken away from their care by child services because they were getting bashed and beaten by their adoptive farther. Makayla on the other hand wanted to stay because she said and I quote ‘they deserve the treatment they got they’re the reason our parents are dead,’” She paused “Gary Redion owns a property just north of the town ship. And also Charlie Henston just put in a missing persons report for her sister Lilly and boyfriend hennery prince-bled.”  She finished what she was saying
