Trust? Pt. 1

(Y/n)'s POV

Since we were all bored, we went to the library. Dipper was trying to figure out the password to an old computer he had found in an old bunker. Bill, Tad, and I were making towers with the books, and Mabel was talking to some guy who was putting on a puppet show.

"(Y/N)!!! DIPPER!! TAD! BILLL!!!!" Mabel ran up to us

"Mabel! This is a library! Don't shout!" Dipper tells her

"What happened?" I asked

Mabel takes out a poster and unfolds it, revealing a picture of a boy holding puppets

"This is Gabe. I like him, so I talked to him, and somehow, I ended up telling him that I put on puppet shows like he does. So I need all of you to help me make what I said come true!"

"But Mabel, i'm still trying to figure out the password to this computer..."

"Please??" Mabel asked

"C'mon Dipper, it's not like the computer's going to go anywhere!" Mabel told him

Dipper sighed "Fine."

During the next couple days, Mabel, Grenda, Candy, Soos, Wendy, Dipper, Bill, Tad, and I all work on the play. Every night, Dipper continues trying to unlock the laptop, failing every time.

Dipper's POV

It's the night before Mabel's puppet show. A week has passed, and I still haven't figured out the password. I go outside to the rooftop to see if that will help my brain. Tad teleports in front of me and looks at the laptop's screen.

"Hey... This looks familiar!"

Tad stops and thinks for a second.

"I can give you the password to the laptop if you want." He smiled

"Really?" I asked him in shock

"Sure! Just give me the laptop so that I can enter the password!" I was about to give him the laptop until I pulled it back

"Wait... Can I even trust you? Why can't you just tell me the password?" I asked

"Think of it as a trust exercise. If you trust me, then (y/n) and Mabel will trust me! That way, you won't be suspicious of me anymore. What makes you think i'm untrustworthy?"

"Well, Bill told (y/n) not to trust you"

"But do you trust Bill?" He asked

I stayed silent.

He's right, but then again... I trust Bill more than Tad. But Tad knows the password!

"No. I'm not going to give it to you."

"...fine. But i'll still enter the password for you if you want!" He said before teleporting away

--the next day--

"Dipper!"

"Yeah?"

"I need to change up some of the puppets! Can you help me?"

"What?! But you said you would help me with the laptop today!"

"I'll help you after the show, okay? I promise!"

Frustrated, I left and walked up to our room to continue trying to crack the code

After multiple failed attempts, the computer started beeping.

"YOU HAVE 5 MINUTES UNTIL ALL DATA IS CLEARED."

"What?! Oh no! What am I supposed to do?" I panicked

I tried entering more passwords, but it ended up giving me shorter time

"20 SECONDS UNTIL ALL DATA IS ERASED."

That's when Tad walked up to the room

"I heard panicking! Need my help now?"

"Just tell me the password! You don't have to type it yourself!" I told him

"Well then, I won't tell you the password!"

"10 SECONDS REMAINING"

"...Okay! Here!" I gave him the laptop

He typed out the password, but it had failed

"WHAT? I thought you knew it!"

"I- I do! Hold on..."

"3...2...1..."
