CHAPTER 05 - Anything but This

“When will you introduce me to her? I want to meet the woman clouding up my girlfriend’s thoughts.”

“Soon! But I’ll introduce you to Takamina first.”

“Huh? That midget? I saw her once I guess…”

“Yeah. But I wasn’t able to formally introduce you. And hey, don’t call her a midget… I’m just centimeters taller than her so it hurts me a little you know.”

“Geez~ I love you the way you are Yuko…” He pulled me closer to his body and let me lean on those broad shoulders drowning myself with his scent. “…the only midget who won my heart.”

“Your boyfriend?” Takamina questioned.

“Yeah. I want him to meet you first before meeting Nyannyan.”

“Is that so? I think I met him once.”

“Yes you did. I already mentioned him to you before right?”

“Yeah… I’m surprised you didn’t tell him about your knight though.”

“He’s one of those people who won’t understand…” Yuko uttered in a soft voice. “He might break off with me if I insist that it happened.”

“Then break off with him!”

“I can’t do that!! He’s… he’s the love of my life…”

“..the love of your life? Geez~~ He’s not for you Yuko. Not with that impression of him on you.” Takamina states truthfully earning a serious look from the taller girl. “If you can’t be yourself around him, then he’s not worth it Yuko. Better find someone else who you can be yourself!”

“Those persons only appear in dreams Takamina. They don’t exist.”

“Hey~ …bitterness striking on you? What’s wrong with you?” Takamina sighed. “All I’m saying is, if he can’t accept you having that one important part of your life, then why stay with him? I mean, it’s one of your precious treasures… It’s important to you. He should accept it too.”

Yuko remained silent as she tried to process Takamina’s words.

“I’m not meeting him up.” Takamina stands and went back to her seat grabbing her notebook and pen. “I don’t want to be rude by saying I want to know him more when in reality, I don’t.” Her head swings back to Yuko and uttered “When you’re finally able to tell him about what happened months ago, then call me to meet him.”

++[HARUNA’S POV]++

“Ne Nyannyan…” Yuko whispered lovingly clinging onto me as we lay under this same tree outside the club room.

“Hmm?”

“I want you to meet my boyfriend before he leaves.”

Words won’t come out of my mouth. So it was this life huh? Of all the cycles, this one is what I hated the most, the one that I never want to go through again.

"...so i'll have you all to myself on Christmas... That is if you'll say yes." she continued lovingly.

I can only hold the sigh I have inside and flash a smile. I don’t want to meet him. “Okay.”

She pouted at me and stroked my cheeks like it was the most normal thing a friend would do while her head is comfortably resting on my chest. “Okay? And you’re eyes are tearing up.”

“Un!” I replied as bubbly as I can be. “I’m just so happy that you chose to let me meet him though you just met me-“

“Shh~” she interrupted me as I started trembling. “You’re that happy that you’re almost crying?” I nodded. She smiled at me radiantly and looked at me like she’s trying to melt me with her gaze. Stop doing that Yuuchan. “I love you…” She uttered lovingly and snuggled closer.
