"Kittens"
When the little girl's cat had kittens, they disappeared after a couple of days. She asked her mother what happened to them. Her mother replied "God took them away." Months later, the cat again had a litter of kittens. The girl's mother sent her away on some errands, but before she left she heard her father coming; carrying a bucket full of water. She hid from him and watched while her father put the kittens in a sack, drowning them in the bucket of water. Later, the girl asked her mother again what had happened to the kittens. And again, she replied "God took them away."
Several days later, her mother asked the girl to watch her baby brother in the bathtub while she answered the phone. A few moments later, the mother screamed when she returned, to find her son face down in the tub. The girl looked at her mother and simply said; "God took him away."
