Stein knew she didn't have a boyfriend, so why was he afraid to tell her he liked her?Perhaps it was because he thought that she didn't like older men like him... or, even more so; he thought that she probably liked... the other person.

'The other person was a man who was just like her; smart and a recent college graduate. He wasn't spectacular looking when compared to someone as beautiful as (Name), but Stein could picture them together.

And although it hurt to think about , he knew he would probably never end up dating (Name) so he just kept his feelings hidden for as long as he could...

"Hm? So the machine's finally working now?" Stein said, trying to sound slightly bored in order to not sound too caring about her.

She frowned, looking a little disappointed when she heard him.

"Um, yeah..." She muttered and Stein quickly noticed. He was confused and quickly felt a little panicked, trying to not sound too worriedly when he spoke.

"What's wrong?" Stein sighed plainly as he let a grey trail of smoke escape from his mouth after taking out his cigarette.

"Uh, n-nothing, it doesn't matter. I should... I should just go!" (Name) said quickly as her face lit up bright red and she dashed out of the room; leaving Stein even more confused. He sat there for a little bit as his smoke trail slowly vanished until he noticed a figure next to the door and recognized that it was none other then him.

The college graduate just looked at him with a dark glare, keeping quiet as he slowly slithered away. Stein just ignored him, used to all the glares that that certain college graduate always gave him whenever he talked to (Name).

Stein just went back to work and was left unknowing about the horror that was to happen that day...

"So are you okay with doing this?" He asked Stein as he sat there with a plain, quiet expression. "I need your help, but I'm not even sure you would even think this is a good idea-"

"Yes... I'll do it." Stein muttered, not wanting to listen to him talk any longer. He wanted (Name) so bad he didn't care if this was even violating nature's most basic laws...

The man smiled, his eyes lighting up as he stood up. "Good! Just come with me to the old lab; I already started so all I need you to do is to do one thing and we'll be set!"

Stein stood up as well and stared at him for moment before following him out the door and towards his car. At first, he was hesitant to step into the college graduate's car but quickly forced himself to when he thought of (Name).

As the car began to drive, Stein began to think about what had happened to (Name) that day...

"Huh? What happened?" The college graduate said as he answered the phone. Stein was working on one of his projects; clearly focused but also faintly hearing in on what the other person was saying on the phone.

When he heard it drop on the ground, Stein looked behind him to see a shocked expression on the college graduate with tears forming in his eyes. He turned his head to look at Stein, his expression filled with this deepened look of despair.
